  1. Roadcraft is superb, but IMO very difficult to practice, without practical testing. I think that you should use Roadcraft in every day driving/riding, and most people do, but i think its hard to action, without actually driving under Roadcraft, and to the system, to put it into practice, and for it to become natural
  2. haha yeah they are, ill let u know m8
  3. I quite like some of ghost bikes stuff, although PERSONALLY, i wouldnt trust own brand stuf, although its probably adequate, i wnt the best chance i can get if i come off.

  12. I have seen a set of these boots, in a local bike shop, at what i think is a very good price, and they are SO comfy. http://i45.tinypic.com/2a7vgvk.png But, 1. What model are they? 2. Are they any good? 3. What are they worth? Andy
  13. Thats the spirit mate, Whenever your feeling down, get the lube out!
  14. I think, if you aren't worried about the £80, then you should consider taking it. It coudl be suggested if your training school have contacted you, rather than the other way around about the test, maybe they think you are ready. However, my concern, in honesty, is that once having a full license, you will just decide to have no further training. However looking at your posts, you seem to think you need more training, and based on your posts alone, as i have never seen you riding, I think you would benefit from more training too. Motorbikes are fun, but they are also death traps if not used properly. I passed my test fully confident that i could control a bike, having sat the correct training, I have had a couple of near misses, but i think due to my training, its how they stayed as a near miss, and not a crash. I personally would not like to ride with a full license, knowing im not trained fully. Also have you sat your theory test yet? Have you read up on the show me tell me questions, and the pillion questions? Are you comfortable with emergency stops, U turns, and such like? If all of the above you are, then go for it. But IMO, definately seek further training after your test.
  15. Mate cheers, but please don't think i was playing the sympathy card. All i was saying is we arent always out catching motorists, In fairness i never have chance. Thats more the traffic dept. We do sometimes help ( i think )
  16. Ok noted. I was only referring to some users, though i do appreciate that they are entitled to their opinions. This is a great forum, and i wasn't criticising the forum in anyway.
  17. Vicki, This is a great forum, i have never disputed that. Its a minority not a majority. Mostly when the police are mentioned on here it is in a negative fasion. Which i fully understand is peoples opinions, but I don't have to like it, and it is a little offensive when the police seem to be slated continually by SOME people. Not all. Yes, 99& of the forum it doesnt happen. People have their opinions, but its not the lower ranked police who do this, they have to follow the rules set by the government, and senior ranking officers, is all i was saying My comment was not in any way negative about the forum. If i ddidnt like it i wouldn't be here, so Im sorry if you took it that way. PPF I Fully appreciate what you are saying. and see yours and the original posters point. However what i am saying is the law isn't going away. If we choose not to follow it, there may be consequences, which would be the same for you and I. And lastly Techno, It is my choice mate i appreciate that. However all kim saying is we do do some good work, and some hard work. Even though that sometimes upsets people, most police officers, I included do that for good reaason, to beenefit the public. Although i do emphasise MOST. Sorry if my post was seen at all offensive, it was meant as discussion, not as an insult.
  18. Am i the only one here who thinks this guy is talking utter rubbish? 1. if were being pedantic, police dont sit in camera vans, its civillian staff, so no less police officers are taken off the streets. 2. have you ever tried being a police officer? Have you ever sat and looked a paedophile in the eye? have you ever told a mother than her son has died? have you ever had a knife pulled on you only because of your job? The law is the law, get used to it. Its not going to change. If the speed limit is 50, its 50. Not 55. Its 50 for a reason, and someone has made it 50 for that reason, Road safety is a huge thing. So that isnt going to, nor shoudl it change. Stopping motorists also results in a lot of crime detection. Im sick and tired of people on this forum, slagging the police off 24/7, you'd soon moan if we weren't here. All i can say in response to your posts, with respect, is get a grip. The law is the law, abide by it, i have to, so does everyone else.
