Officer Cowie probably has, plays the 'thick punter' in all the training vids, missed his calling cos he's a brilliant comedian and comic actor, the bikesafe thingies are worth it just to see him in action. The man should have his own syndicated TV show.

always wave if possible, had some interesting looks as I heel the Pan over to go round the Cuckoo Bridge roundabout ........big wave and bigger grin WOOHOOOOOO . waving is a lot less tiring if there's a lot of bikes or a large group of em coming t'other way, and you don't look like you've got a neurological problem. Always wave to bike plod, know the D&G ones well. Worst thing is trying not to nod when I'm in the car

Agree doing it in a oner is pretty dangerous as both bikes and riders are being pushed very hard so either could 'fail'. Maybe just me but I want to enjoy myself and 400+ miles is a fairly comfortable days riding. -

As for doing it in a oner some peeps off Bikers Oracle have just done that and they were all totally shagged at the end and they were on tourers, they also used the motorways and were "making progress". oh and one of the bikes blew up about 2/3rds of the way. -

if we're doing it over 2 days, reckon we should avoid as much of the M'way(zzzzzzzzz) system as poss. very outline plan 31 Aug, travel to LE, B&B cos I ain't camping at my age at that time of year. 1st Sept, travel to just over half way, B&B 2nd complete run to JoG, B&B 3rd Aug, head for home Just been given a copy of autoroute 2007 so could start working on a route. -

cheers stealth should be there about 12 your OK Drew far as I can tell none of the MCN staff go to anything other than BMF and MCN gigs, Kam (of the world famous 'Kam' and 'Kam 2' threads) and Skycat live north of Glasgow so it'd be a bit of a haul for them.

Sky and Kam from MCN were thinking of coming (still waiting to hear), think girl with no name lives on the west coast so it'd be a hell of a long way for her to travel.

I have no bleedin idea who's doing what where and from which site (there's a large number on both anyway) all I know is I'm meeting some peeps from here at Hartside @ midday. I'll be on a blue 51 plate Pan with gold bling round a smoked screen and IAM 'wing' stickers on the panniers

Silver Octavia haunts the A6 between Kendal and Penrith as does a wineberry red Pan( fave food R1s and Gixxers). I'm meeting up with t'others at Hartside.
