  1. I had my fist ride up to 'the bridge' today, set off from Garstang at 12.30ish went back roads to lancaster then across through caton and then up through tunstall past my old house ( the lunesdale arms). got to Devils and it was packed had to park on the road. only stayed for 15mins or so then went out towards settle and down to burnley and then dropped my mate off at rossendale then headed home!

think i rode about 120miles today, finaly got the hang of setting of on my rs125 without it feeling like its gonna stall.

1st proper ride out for my saw hundreds of bikes, loads in a lay-by near Caton i think, probably more that at Devils!

  2. i bought a paddock stand today, i had to take the rear tyre to get repaired and last night i took it off with the bike on 2 axel stands, it wasnt very fun!

so when i got my wheel back i bought the paddock stand, i got one that sits under the swing arm, but it keeps sliding forward on the one side, it had little pads on but they came off pretty quickly. Manageed in the end though, 10mins to get it off 1hour to get it back on! :(

Can i change the 'holders'(?) to the bobbin type? and if i do do this where do i mount the bobbins on the bike? and how will i get the wheel off if the bobbins are on?

    HELP!

  3. made mine today, its more like my origonal idea though i couldnt see any box section at work, so i welded a plate to a piece of channel. its about 6mm thick so should be ok. I had to put the holes on the out side so i'll use the allen bolt and ball bearing idea or just mash up the heads of normal bolts.

i was thinking insead of using the ball bearing in the allen bolt you could just drill it to mash it up.

    thanks for the help! :D

  4. I've been looking at ground anchors online, they look pretty simple, so I was thinking I might make one. I was thinking of mounting it using anchor bolts like the ones that come with the proper ones. the only problem i can see is that a tea leaf could just unbolt it?

I was thinking of welding the bolts to the anchor once its tighened down, anybody got any better ideas, apart from 'just go and buy once you cheap bar-steward!'

  5. its fine, my car does the same its got a full stainless system manifold - back box, non standard.

Its just the lack of air getting to the engine when u let off at high revs. All engines do it, but the non standard exhaust just amplifies the sound.

  6. sorted! Well nearly, it starts and runs thanks to a bit of fuel! New trouble now, it stayed on when i switched the key off and removed it. I had to stall it to knock it off. Grrr

  7. well i took the starter off it was fine, so i drained the coolant and took the barrell off, came off easy so it wasnt the piston seized to the barrell. the crank was seized so i got my socket on to the nut on the fly wheel, turned it, it was tight as but eventually it creaked then turned freely.

i put it all back together and refilled the coolant, connected the battery, which i had charged, and pressed the button it fired up! yey!!!!

it ran for a minute the and idled ok, then it died, now i'm back to where i was when i got it. it wont start on the button again. i did the put me thumb over the spark plug hole and crank it and it has compression, im stumped!

    anybody got a 125 for sale cheap??lol

  8. put the new piston and barrel on today, and pushed the button, it turned over without any trouble, it didn't let it fire up so i could check for leaks, nothing leaking so i thought i was in there! so i treid again and it 'clicked' then nothing. could the batttery need charging?

i cant push the bike when its in gear, i think its cos the starter is stuck in the engaged position now, need a new oe there, but would that cause the rear wheel be locked when in gear?

  9. you dont normally get a choice of which channel you watch other programs on. I like the comentry on eurosport better than the bbc though. I hope they will show the 125s and 250s on the proper program as i'll forget to watch if its only on BBCi.

On a similar note, i am lead to believe the f1 will be on the bbc next season too!

  10. its got low compression, i took the head off and the piston was slightly 'loose in the barrel, so i guess i need a new pston kit. hopefully anyway as its only £20 rather than £100+ for the barrel kit.

    thanks for the help!

edit: Wrong, the barrel and piston are both scored so new kit for me then,.

Thought about just replacing the engine?

Is the starter motor throwing the actual piston over? take the spark plug out, put your thumb over the hole, and turn it over. If you feel pressure building up and pushing your thumb off, then it's just not spinning it over fast enough, so try charging the battery.

    thanks,

i'll thry that tommorow, and try charging the battery, i did my cbt today, i should have bought a 125 oh well, if i get it going it might be for sale soon!

  12. still need help, the starter is spinning the flywheel but not starting the engine. and the starter does disengage when i let the button out. whats on the other side of the flywheel? is there anything there that could be broken, it still bump starts though.

    please help!

  13. did my CBT today, it was really good! i was very nervous this morning on the drive there but it seemed to disappear as soon as i met the instructor. he was really freindly and encouraging. i'd never ridden before today and i seemed to pick it up quite quickly. i got the u turn first time, and the figure 8 and the emergency stop, i think its from reading on here to look at where you want to be that helped me. thanks!

anyway we had lunch then went out on to the road, i got nervous again as soon as we left the centre, but after the first few sets of lights i was fine, then when he was saying 'wind it on we're coming up to a 60zone' it felt great!
