Ok , apart from the obvious " How many times have you electrocuted yourself ? " What question were you responding to ? It was something to do with the where do yiu see yourself in five years question, and i have this annoying habit of answering the actual question, but then it leads to a sub story and i go off track and next thing we were talking home improvements and i told them i electorcuted myself several times fitting new plug sockets hahaha
-
I am the same! I start answering then i end up tellimg a sub-story and going all round the houses. Actually had an interview and a second stage last week and dropped in that i was definitely a bit nosy and that i electrocuted myself several times on a kitchen plug socket. Told myself in the car to not be weird. I just cant help myself. Only needed to be normal for half an hour but no hahaa It was an internal interview and the 2nd stage was on Friday, so went straight from that to night shift and spent the next 12 hours and subsequent two nights low key raging at myself for being an idiot I got offered the job monday morning hahahaha

I just take my dad and his mate Cant reach the floor on much me though which is annoying, so whilst they are doing boy things like chexks im just seeing whether my feet reach rhw floor

Me when i went for a job interview and told them id electrocuted myself one time (well, several times) Does it matter that its not driving related?

No, never really saw the appeal, im in a womens motorbike group on fb and theres an abundance of 'she' this and 'she' that and it just makes me cringe Whatever makes people happy though, ive just got a couple of nerdy wrist tattoos and i know most people wont like them haha

Good lord, i will never moan about a broken nail ever again Think my gloves are around two years old.... crap. I really like them as well and they were the only ones that fit me when i tried every other glove in the entire shop on Speedy recovery to you, glad it wasnt worse. Car drivers are getting worse, i swear

And its getting on my nerves, so I've had to leave a note. They keep leaving the keys in the other side of the door so i can't get in So far my note is working...lets see how long it lasts

New Rider - where do I start?
Kelbam replied to EX7EY's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
Ive never been beeped by a lorry and ive filtered past a few, filtered past one last night on my way to work, though if i think the lights are about to change then i wont attempt it, il just wait, i never go past one that im not 100% sure is stationary Glad to hear youre enjoying life on two wheels though! I also questioned why i waited so long as well haha, though, i did end up having a baby when i was younger so learning how to drive took priorty as it was more practical (boring) but id always wanted one, ever since i was a kid as my dad always had bikes You going to do your DAS? -
U ok hun? PM me x I don't want to talk about it, hun *checks into hospital*

Congratulations! Enjoy your big bike shopping -
I've been looking at purple clutch/brake levers for my step dad for crimbo for his Yamaha fazer ('02) - not sure if they are one size fits all or if I need something specific for his bike I also don't want to unwittingly by some tat that will break on him either, if anyone can help find some that are half decent quality and purple that would be grand Whilst I am on I need some teal side lights for my er-6f. Do they exist lol

Theory passed, Winter training?
Kelbam replied to SidG's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
I did my CBT at the end of January this year and it rained all day haha. Did my DAS in summer though and it was absolutely boiling. I'm not sure which was worse TBH. my clothing was wet through just from sweat. It was gross. I also dropped a bike that may or may not have been related to the warm weather (it totally was. I wouldn't have had to stop to take my thermal lining out of my jacket and in turn forget to put the side stand down if I wasn't so bloody warm - that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it) It was lovely being warm out on the road training but doing slow manoeuvres in a car park for hours and you have to have full gear on was the actual worst. After I dropped the bike, which I broke a little bit I ended up stripping half my gear off and sunbathing while I waited for the bike to come back. It was like that all week. Then when it came to doing Mod2 the week after it absolutely bounced it down more than I've ever seen it bounce I it down ever in my life, I swear (I failed. Passed the second time though happy days) Given a choice I'd much rather learn through winter and be road ready for summer -
Yeah they are definitely on my shopping list. Need some decent socks as well lol. I've got loads of tabs open on my phone for things to buy I never even knew existed a few months go

MOD1 Passed - phew!
Kelbam replied to Rodders's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
Congratulations! I was most worried about the swerve when I did mine as well. Also had a bit of a complex about the figure of 8amd slalom. Luckily all was good on the day though! Hated the manual handling part though, thought I was going to die and realised just how out of shape I actually am Good luck for Mod2! Is it next week? -

It is very rare it bangs she was just looking for a moan because I forgot I'd left it open when I brought my new bike in yesterday afternoon and she was practically screeching at the door about it being every day when the last person to have it open and banging was her bloody fella, so I just think it doesn't matter how careful I am she's just going to moan. I'm not really sure what to do to stop it though as there's nothing it can latch on to once it's open, I use the bike itself to stop it moving which TBH has been working quite well so I'm not sure what else she wants from me. If she can hear me closing it and locking it I fail to see how that's any different to me shutting my front door which is right next to the ginnel door and surely she can't stop me using it? (She has access but it's my ginnel) I guess leaving it on my front is a bad idea il just have to continue to be as careful as I can. Just pee'd me off knowing it is a rare occurrence that it will get away from me and she's practically screaming in my face when I've not even used it recently Edit* also fully aware that I'm probably moaning more than my neighbour right now (ntrly that's impossible)
-
Hi all, I primarily keep my bike in my back garden, but I work nights and my neighbour is moaning that I am waking her up when I get in on a morning, so I may have to reluctantly leave it on the street during the day (it will never be out at night, it will either be at work with me, or in my back garden) I only have a chain for it at the moment, and my step dad has been on telling me to get some more security for it, I have been looking at disk locks on halfords, but have read that the oxford locks are rubbish and that the Abus granite ones are the best. The only ones I have seen on that website are for push bikes...does that matter? There's one that comes with some cable and I've no idea what its for: Abus Grantit D Lock combo pack, plus I think Id want a couple of extra bits and bobs for it as well, maybe a couple of them mini disc lock things as well. I am absolutely not leaving it on my front before I get any kind of extra security for it, tbh, i think she just likes to moan and I work 4 on 4 off so it's not even 'every day' She was moaning about the noise all last week and Im like ive not even used my fecking bike for two weeks, wind your neck in. I do plan on paving my front eventually and sinking some of them thingies in the ground but at present I am super skint from buying the bike For context, it's a mid terraced house with a shared ginnel and it's the door banging that she takes exception too. I do try to be as quiet as possible but sometimes the wind will whip the door out of my hand before I have the chance to stop it from slamming shut. I mean I could understand if it was every day but it isn't and I also appreciate its like 6:30 in the morning (she said 5:45 but didn't want to stoke the flames haha) and I try so bloody hard to make sure I wheel my bike in slowly and lock the ginnel door as soon as the back of my wheel rolls through allowing the door to slowly close. Wouldn't mind but they wake me up all the time but I work nights so I take it on the chin I swear to god one of these days I will ride through that ginnel

DAS Training day 1 - awesome...but dropped bike!
Kelbam replied to Rodders's topic in Motorbike Chat
I dropped a bike doing my DAS training as well. I went to stop in the car park to take mY thermal lining out of my jacket because it was a really warm day, thought I'd put the side stand down (hadn't) went to get off and me and the bike both ended up on the floor, me red faced and the bike missing a foot peg and the end of the clutch lever -
Another DAS thread :) - Mod 2 passed!
