  1. Just do it on your road bike...

f**king hell mate....track days are deff not the way to go on your road bike...

That is why I'm not doing it on my road bike

How did you crash Netty? Take it you weren't injured or anything? You seem to have done very similar damage to what I did to my bike at Brands lol hope you can get it all sorted out without it costing too much

  2. Thanks for the kind offer blake, I'll see if I can afford the repairs and actual booking of the days and let you know as soon as I can if I'll be taking you up on it :)

As for repairing the bike - it still starts and from first glance it looks like its only the fairing that is damaged but I think the bars may not be quite straight, so I'm not sure what else might be damaged / bent. Guess I'll have to take it to a garage and ask them if they can take a good look at it and give me an idea of how much it will cost to fix.

  3. lol come on guys be fair on blake, I wouldn't just expect someone I've never met to do that for me and he probably wouldn't have room in the van anyway. Also, even without the cost of the tow bar and trailer its still more than I can afford at the moment. I'll have to see what state my bank balance is in at the end of June, as I'm going to try and sell a few things on ebay that I never use (like my Wii for example) but I'm not sure if I'll get that much money from that. Not sure if there will be any places left by that time though...

  4. Not sure if I can actually afford this now... :( Its gonna cost me what a couple of hundred quid to get a towbar fitted to my new car, couple of hundred to get my track bike fixed (if not more), couple of hundred for the track days themselves, 40 quid to rent a trailer, 40 - 50 quid for petrol, and probably a bit more for various other things.... so thats roughly £700 and I just dont have £700 at the moment lol

  5. haha thats quality Copo, unfortunately pretty much every panel of my fairing is knackered though :( think I'll have to get some new fairings on it once I've been paid at the end of June, as I'm not going to be able to afford much until then what with buying a new car last week. This seems like as good an excuse as any for some picture whoring of the new car :D

  6. I am insured on it, and I have got a full lisence, but because I was under 21 when I took the test, I'm supposed to restrict it to 33bhp for two years. I just haven't got round to doing it yet.

You really think "I havent got round to doing it yet" is going to be a good enough excuse if the police catch you?

Oh and like everyone else has told you - despite what you think, you are not insured.

I was under 21 when I passed my test and I got mine restricted, then once I was 21 had to go through the hassle and cost of taking the test again so that I could get it unrestricted, so it annoys me that you think you dont have to bother.

  7. i did mine on the 10th aswell! what bike was you on if you dont mind me asking chris? i had rental bike 38 :)

really loved the day can highly recommend it to anyone! you learn quite a bit and was nice to have my first bike track day in a slightly more controlled learning environment :) booking up level 2 soon!

edit: looking at your sig i dont suppose you was the guy unlucky that day and crashed? hope everything was ok!

haha yeah unfortunately I was the idiot that crashed at Paddock Hill bend. Glad to hear you had a good time though :) I did still enjoy the day despite the crash. Shame me and Dan (netmeister) didnt know you were going to be there beforehand as we could have met up. Let us know how level 2 goes when you do that :)

  8. No I was gutted I didnt take the GoPro cos I thought nothing interesting would happen! Wish I had got it on film... but oh well.

Oh and yeah I think I need a new helmet, my leathers need a clean now but they dont seem to be damaged. Just tried starting the bike and all started ok but the starter button stays pressed even when you let go now, which is annoying as I just had it replaced to fix that exact same problem! Louth Bikes say they have got some full fairings in stock for my bike for a couple of hundred quid so will have to see if I can afford that next month. Not sure if I'm going to be able to do any track days before the TMBF one in July now though with the extra expense of repairing the bike and getting a new lid.

  9. Yeah I think I did get away with not too much damage to either myself or the bike - bit bruised and achy this morning but I'm sure I'll be fine in a couple of days. The bike looks like it just needs the front and rear fairing replacing but I havent had chance to have a good look yet to see if there is any other more serious damage. I got a few spare bits of fairing with the bike when I bought it so going to go have a look and see if I've got the right bits (but knowing my luck I wont have) :)

and yeah I kept thinking I'm glad it wasnt on a public road as it would have been a lot more painful!

  10. Went and did the CSS course at Brands Hatch today with Netmeister (good to meet you and thanks for helping me out) and the day was going quite well up until the point where I rode straight into the gravel at paddock hill bend at about 70 mph... Unfortunately havent got any pictures of the actual crash but here's some of the aftermath:

I didnt come off to badly I guess - bit bruised on my side, couple of small cuts on my head, and swallowed a few bits of gravel. Shame I cant do the track day at Cadwell tomorrow that I had booked though :(

  11. no, seeing people go round and round a track (no matter who they are) with no overtaking does not interest me much if I'm honest. Yeah a couple of laps is fine but not like 20 with pretty much no 'action'. Each to their own though eh :)

EDIT: I'm talking about on the TV btw, I'm sure watching it in real life is great no matter what happens.

  12. I thought all the races yesterday were good :?

Really? Absolutely nothing happened in Moto GP until like the last 2 laps as far as I can remember, where as the entire race in Moto 2 (after the restart) was like those last 2 laps in Moto GP :)

  13. just watched the Moto GP race and it was pretty boring compared to the Moto 2 one :P and yeah I have to admit I laughed at the crash when Elias got up and started running away then promptly fell on his face  poor guy

  14. Anyone watch this? Its on BBC iPlayer now, just watched it and what a race! I wont spoil anything important but it was stopped after a couple of laps due to a crash and shortened to 17 laps instead of 26 or whatever it should have been - pretty much every one of those 17 laps was action packed with the lead changing so many times between so many different people. I thought I wouldn't find it that interesting because I had never heard of most of the people in Moto 2 but it was definitely worth watching! :)
