  1. Couple of things to think about (which you probably already have) :

Transportation - how are you going to get the bike there? The biggest thing to get ready for me before each track day is getting hold of a trailer and loading the bike up.

Sleeping - If you are camping out then obviously need to bring all your camping gear or just some things to keep you comfy in the car if you are sleeping in there.

BTW which double at Cadwell are you talking about? The one in July mentioned in the other thread?

  2. Yeah the 33bhp restriction is a bit of a pain when it comes to track days... that was one of the main reasons I took my test prior to the 2 year restriction period being over - so that I could go do track days :)

As for what track days are like.. put it this way I went and did my first ever one in January this year in the freezing cold and wet, and I still enjoyed it so much that I have done 5 more since then and have 3 more booked over the next couple of weeks :D

  3. and 3 mins into one of your vids i come past  and then out brake the 3 in front of you into park...quality bit of riding even if i do say so myself

haha I think it was 4 people wasnt it? It surprised me when you passed me coming out of coppice, I was riding really hard to keep up with the other guys and then you just nipped round me like I was doing 30 mph! :P

your looking a lot quicker than you did on the road bike, looked to be going well....just bottle a few overtakes which you could of had easily....oh and a brembo master cylinder will have you braking much later into the corners

Yeah it did take quite a bit of getting used to but by the afternoon of the second day I felt like I was going a lot better than before - knocked about 6 seconds off my best lap time so I must have been :P

and no can do end of march, ill be working and money wont allow, its 60 quid in fuel just to get there and then about another 40 quid for the bike so 200 for the day turns into 300 plus food and camping....

plus im at anglesey the weekend after...

Ah fair enough, I forgot how far/expensive it is for you just to get there. I think I'm definitely going to do it though so I'm sure you'll see some videos from me here shortly after :)

  4. he would of made it easy, there were in novice group so not going all out so to speak....

lol yeah in one of the other videos someone comes past at the same sort of speed on the same line and actually gets round the corner, which I was impressed with haha

good vids chris, good too see you for a 2 dayer. roll on the next one....ill be in fast group next time tho ;)

will get some vids up tonight...

Yeah it was great to meet you and your family and thanks once again for helping me out. By the way I managed to drop the bike while I was getting it off the trailer when I got home haha I bet that doesnt surprise you. No damage or anything, it just fell over when I undid one of the straps and somehow stayed on the trailer so it didnt hit the ground or anything.

There's a 2 dayer at Cadwell on 27th and 28th March if you are interested! :D Its a weekend so £210 in total for both days.

  5. Here's a few bits from on board my bike at Cadwell yesterday, will post the videos from today once I have edited/uploaded them. Phil do you want to stick yours in this thread too? Even if they will put mine to shame :P

Was a great 2 days, even though the Friday was quite damp, was brilliant weather today though and I cant wait to do another one :) Nice to meet Phil and a few others as well (thanks again for all the help!)

This video is from yesterday when I was in the novice group, when I put the video up from today where I was in the intermediate group you will notice a lot less overtaking and a hell of a lot more people overtaking me! :P

    EDIT:

Quick video of some random close encounters (they were actually a bit closer than they look on video as the camera has a fisheye lens) :

  7. Called LouthBikes today and they said it shouldnt be a problem delivering the trailer to me on Thursday :) and I called the place I'm buying the car from and asked them to make me a duplicate number plate for me to put on the trailer as I had forgotten all about that. Also got some ratchet tie downs (though no idea how to use them yet...) and checked oil level, chain tension, tyre pressures etc on the track bike last night so I think I'm all set now! :D
