  1. Hi, can have a quick look at it next week, if you want. I'm in poole, or rather penn hill area, if you want to run it over. Would say this weekend, but bloody injured my leg today at West bay, trying to bump start a Honda!!!! And not mine!!! If you do let me know and somehow will get you my address, without posting on here.

Oh awesome! I'm busy this weekend as it's my birthday anywhoo and normally work weekends but living in Bournemouth half the week and dorchester the rest so very back and forth haha! I'll give you a shout if there's a spare 5 minutes we're free!

  2. It was okay when I picked it up but the ride home was v. Short.

Seems it's trying to die anywhere bellow 2000 ish when riding, back firing etc. And having to keep the revs up and constantly think about is a bit shit after a break for myself and finally being on something other than a 125

  3. So when you picked it up from the service, was it running ok then? because you said tickover was set low? and in a service they would have set that?

It was serviced before I was bought it, thing is I ran it a few times in the meantime to get MOT, get restricted etc. and it was fine? Last time being restrictors about a month prior to riding properly.

  4. Thanks leener :D someone suggested Redex?

It warms up on autochoke which shuts off and revs drop off. At that point it seems to try stall with tick over any lower. It had a service just before I garaged it (plus only 1900 on the clock so hopefully nothing too wrong).

When I come to a stop with clutch pulled in they drop too low and it tries to stall/does stall if I don't catch it.

  5. After a long stretch garaged unintentionally, finally have the ER on road. Only thing is now I've started using it, it seems to be idling too low, cutting out and dying when stopped and when warming up after autochoke drops off. Obvious answer to this is adjust screw to bring tick over back up, but what could be the reason for this? Don't want to just ignore it if it could become an issue. I don't have much luck with bikes. I just want everything to be okay for once haha! I'm due some good luck... pleaseee.

Anyway, got off on a tangent, suggestions?

  6. Thanks all x

Not that I intend on acquiring one anytime soon, but the next OH is required to be into bikes  can't ever fully understand those who aren't ;)

Two years ago I broke up with my ex-fiancee (8 years together). I always thought opposites attracted, she wasn't a bike fan, or even a sports fan and lazy. Wasn't really sure what I was going to do and was a little lost.

I met someone new a while ago, who is genuinely the female version of myself and I've never looked back. Our interests are the same and she is in love with being pillion.

    I marry her next year.

Basically, don't be worried if it wasn't right, you don't need to settle for someone. Chin up, move on and take a bike ride to somewhere quiet and grab a cuppa/beer and consider the things to come.

Thank you, this really helped to read! Another day of struggling to start the CG in the rain and sitting in a dingy office anxious and stressed closer to having my beautiful ER6n to enjoy. Might clean it again.

*Didn't* take it for a little evening ride up and down the main roads a couple days back... very in love already. Riding it to its MOT saturday, needs to be MOT'd to be registered in this country, so I gotta get it there somehow right? Hope that'll fly.

Yes :D I'll plan some mad trips that I can hardly imagine doing !

  8. 30mph in my test but I did it when you still did the emergency stop on the road.

I had a nice dry road, unlike my Dad when he did his test who had to do it on wet leaves.

What? They don't do it on the road these days?

We just rode round the block until the examiner jumped out from behind a tree and so long as you didn't run him over you passed.

Legend tells of the guy who rode round and round the block for hours until he ran out of fuel. When he walked back to the test centre it turned out the examiner had jumped in front of the wrong bike and got himself flattened, so he was carted off to hospital leave the candidate cruising round the block blissfully unaware of the accident.

Drinking and absolutely dying at this
