  1. on the ER6?

I believe to restrict these its a throttle stop that screws in to the throttle cable holding plate on the throttle bodies washers in the throttle bodies and a wire jumper that plugs in to the loom

Not an easy task if you have never done anything like this before

piece of piss for a home mechanic

So potentially doable for one of my more, let's say, mechanically able (lol) friends to help with?

  2. DIY restrictor kits, are they easy to do? Worth it?

Been quoted £200 to have bike picked up, restricted and dropped back to me including kit. DIY kits seem to be about £60 online which is a big difference!

  3. So, I'm thinking I may have to send my 125 into a garage to be looked at :c (yaaay more debt) but I thought I'd see if anyone has had a similar issue/experience so that I can explain it better.

Basically, after a while of riding in high gears at about 55/60 on my commute, sometimes (I pressume) my clutch starts screeching like it's grating or something? This sometimes stops when I change back down gear. Can clunk loudly back into first afterwards. Pretty unnerving. Doesn't feel smooth to ride and just generally sounds unhappy (sorry bikey :c ).

    Any ideas?

  4. He moved town, apparently it makes you nicer xD No recent attempts to quash my interests, albeit still not interested, lets me enthuse vocally repeatedly about the arrival of my ER6n on Sunday this week (!!!) and complain about how far apart the test bookings are :(

Maybe not being in each others laps is what we needed! Meh, worst case scenario, he loses an awesome girlfriend and I get more time with my pretty new baby

  5. It's a starter motor problem. Knocking it with a hammer a couple times got it starting normally again. A new battery can't do any harm but still annoying!

Knocking it moves around the pile of carbon dust moving around inside . All you have to do is take it off, open it up, remove the crap , polish the copper bits with very fine emery then put it back together. This will take two hrs tops . The videos I suggested earlier in this thread will help.

    Fabulous thanks :D

  6. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!? You don't need a MECHANIC for a CG125

You do when you're totally clueless, pushed for time and have minimal support haha xD I have no back up form of transport, nobody in my family drives and both jobs are a fair commute and public transport would eat up most of what I earn without the bike :(

BEHOLD, THE HOLY GRAIL OF CG OWNERSHIP

But seriously though if you run into anything that isn't covered on there, let me know and I can probably help a bit. I've needlessly dismantled and rebuilt mine several times over now

    Thank you :D

  8. Have you ditched him yet?

If not, I'd say knock it on the head and focus on yourself for a bit. Nothing wrong with being single and having some "you" time.

Get out, find some other bikers and enjoy yourself!

Mentally and physically distancing myself and focusing on myself regardless of his presence in my life. How he reacts will be telling!

  9. Very often all you need to do is open up the starter motor and give everything a good clean but this is not a job for a beginner. You can't just unbolt it without first removing the engine side cover to get at the cog or sprocket that drives the crank. Then you should fit a fresh gasket. There's bound to be a youtube video on it.

I've got it booked for a service 19th, do you think it would cost much?

  10. For a short while the bike has had a couple issues starting, primarily after short journeys. Followed by medium length journeys too. Followed by I've-now-been-bumping-it-for-a-week. Before, after a couple of failed attempts at bumping it would then start on the switch, but now it's bump or nothing. Only noise made by the ignition is a click. Is this sounding battery or starter motor? Have a new battery regardless as I did leave it to sit Sept-March without starting it once so probably would benefit a new one anyway, but a few people have suggested starter motor issues? If so are these expensive to fix? :/

  11. Yet again, thank you all x) it really means so much to have the reassurance that it's not just me reacting badly due to negative association with the past if that makes sense? It's hard to convey the love of bikes to someone who doesn't get it (nor the excitement of the arrival of revmafia sports bike leggings eeeee!)

  12. The support from y'all actually means a lot right now, thank you! I wonder if three weeks is enough to cram for my theory. My 21st is December and I'm determined to have my A2 in time for my birthday so I can ask for bike stuff xD

  13. Post him a link to this thread. That's the big test...

Oh and tell the weightlifting instructor that your BF says he's talking sh1t and doesnt know what hes talking about.. I can imagine the weightlifting instructor won't take too kindly to being criticized

In all seriousness, next time he makes controlling comments just say to him "stop trying to control me". After saying it a few times he will either take the hint, or get worse... Then you'll know what to to.

I did rat him out to the PT ;)

" Your range of motion is arguably too far due to hypermobilty and horse riding so often I'm holding you back. If you don't do well, I will tell you don't worry :) Legs are really shaping up S*****! Doing incredibly well in both aesthetics and strength! Your strength is always going up, your getting leaner and your skin quality looks great. "

    Mwhahaha. >:)
