  1. Please tell me that guy that got his foot cut off had neglected his chain, and that's not something that happens regularly with well looked after chains?! Off to lube my chain now...
  2. Just a case of learning that you can actually lean the bike a hell of a lot further than you first think...I actually crashed (well, slid off) due to panicking that I was coming into a corner at 60....I've since gone round it at 85

    I'm learning, ok?

Dunno, just tip the bike and check the overflows are or aren't dripping petrol I suppose. There is a tank breather and two overflow pipes on my Zephyr, one from the fuel filler and one from the tank... plus two breathers off the carbs. Oh btw it looks like the yellow arrow is the breather hole, the red is the fuel filler overflow.
  4. I'll be passing on the way to a rideout on Sunday (5th), anyone on a biggish bike that can ride it and has the day free is welcome!
  5. For that price I'll give them a try They're what I'm wearing at the moment, let a lot of air in, great for the hot weather....but still have plenty of protection!
  6. These are alright for the price: http://www.ghostbikes.com/pp/PROTECTIVE ... loves.html
  7. End of this video shows how to open and close it, the other button will remove it from the bike. ">
  8. would work on black but not colours.... I was at the ridesafe event at Blackpool and was given a demo/clean with this stuff, works well, non greasy, waterproof, and reasonable price.. at 11.99, plus they do a travel size, which would be handy for a trial.. http://www.renapur.com/balsam.htm video link.. http://www.renapur.com/videos/Renapur-balsam.WMV Clear shoe polish? I don't have anything that's not black anyway, cause I'm that cool EDIT: Also, clear shoe polish is probably more expensive. 75ml is normally about 4 quid, that Renapur stuff is 250ml for 11.99...
  9. I take it liquid shoe polish isn't the done thing then?
  10. Check new link, it'll look even better! EDIT: Also an Oxford option http://www.mandp.co.uk/productinfo/9019 ... ers/Oxford P.S: I don't work for M&P!
  11. Although I do like my Buffalo tank bag, so this might be worth the extra.... http://www.mandp.co.uk/productinfo/9018 ... rs/Getaway
  12. How about this? http://www.mandp.co.uk/productInfo.aspx?catRef=901543 P.S: The panniers should fit any bike, yes.
  13. Yeah it's a 125 but we all gotta start somewhere and it wasn't intended for speed, the sole purpose was to save fuel commuting. Suppose I could do what the idiot down the road does and ride without number plates, licence, etc., then I wouldn't have to worry about engine size or for that matter my life but I thought i'd do it right. In terms of speed the most I do is 50 given the roads and traffic, but it still gets pretty damn breezy round the old 6-pack, sorry I mean keg. Hmm I just can't see one of those flyscreen type things doing anything on a 125 is all, was genuinely curious as to why you wanted one! Surely it'd make the difference in fuel economy between 85 and 82 mpg or something - or have you read people saying it makes a big difference?
  14. A screen on a 125? "Protection from the wind at high speeds"? Really?
  15. Roll up outside the exam centre with a Piaggio MP3 500cc...interesting. Would you only get an auto license (best case scenario) though?
  16. Sounds like that bike wants wheeling off a cliff! I thought my Zephyr was bad when I got it to bits and found rust everywhere....but cable ties holding the frame together?! Different league.
  17. Not when you can get it from J&S for 15 quid less.... https://www.jsaccessories.co.uk/view_de ... 20Tailpack
  18. Module 1 is the off-road bit? That should be fine (as long as you can swerve a bike!), the advice I gave applies to the on-road bit.
  19. Oh yeah the speed limit, I remember that from when I had a scooter!
  20. Unless you are crossing a solid line, overtaking is legal. Filtering between lanes is a grey area, certainly passing cars on the inside at 90 on the motorway is probably a bad idea (but it got me there quicker )
  21. You stand a much lower chance of passing, however. I would recommend at least getting a mate that knows what they are doing and some practice with the earpiece/instructions, as this may well throw you if you haven't had practice with it. Also make sure to ride the common routes for your test centre, checking out any odd bus lanes/junctions etc etc.
  22. Anyone that fancies it, I am thinking good weather, no need to get up Monday = trip to Brighton. Meeting for 10ish departure at the Ace. 125s welcome, don't really fancy a fast one. Will use cornerman if over 5 riders, if not just stick together. Any takers?
