if you have got a genuine honda rectifyer then that might be the problem. i had it last year and you get the same sounds i had. i tried new batteries n all sorts but apparently honda dont make the best rectifyers and that is what i had changed and it sorted the problem. get a non honda one though should you replace.

part from not having a center stand i already know i need a new chain, got one on order and just waiting for it to arive. it sounds like you just hit the nail on the head. (oh and thankyou nastro pmsl)

can you see an electrical wire under the carbs? this is the wire for the Carb Warmers. doesn't sound like carb icing to me, have you changed the plugs recently? otherwise may be worth it, to get a better spark.. er... that sounds like a good idea mate will try that.

right, done a few miles this weekend, 230+ and things seem to be ok, but i do still have a rattle which i am not convinced is the chain, its like she is struggling when bout 3/4k revs. no it might just be my paranoia now but i want to know, do i have carb warmers on or is it them freezing up do you think?

hey mate, i had this problem last winter, but you know what i didnt do anything but bare with it and it for some reason stopped. i do know they hate this weather so i am having trouble with my storm at the mo. if you dont get it sorted by the next time i am at the garage with mine i will ask them. i go there regularly in the winter pmsl

well i do appologuise for using the wrong word , i am a burd you know thats no excuse oh and Walney there is such a thing as a hugger mudguard but these are normally on the rear. right went to the bike shop today to pick their brains. and £40 later i was on my way home the front bearings had collapsed and they said that was prolly the problem, so i amriding with new bearings and will see, although now i have a new noise pmsl, but i think that is the shit chain i have on

not got a center stand but i will have a look at the side stand, it is pretty stiff to move it though, but yeh i will have a look see

riding the other day and i heard a very loud scratching sound. the only way i can describe it is as if someone was scratching a sharp point down the plastic, sounded like it was coming from the front hugger but i cant find any obstruction. i also had little vibration thru the bars when the noise was there andit seemed worse when leant over. it is intermitent and sometimes louder than others. any idea's?

to be honnest i dont think i would go for it, £100 can get you a new agv or sommat without the brand name and then you know the history and not getting someones version. siting on a table doesnot scratch a helmet so i would be wary

i am up for all of it, although i will be taking my time getting up there and getting back cos of my troublesome back. but i am up for the full journey seeing as i aint got much holiday planned, i will camp to and i live half way down ish. cornwall is like a memory trip for me so would be nice to go see my nanny's old house one more time so would prolly have nuther day down there for holiday. am going to get sponsored to so might manage to raise quite a bit, most peeps i know know i cant manage that distance well so would be up for it i think.

i know i live 10 min away but i am up for camping it. more fun that way. just need to find a tent

dont know if it counts but i have hit many a pigeon with my patio doors, they had a habbit of flying into them no matter what i did to try and stop them. often had a bird print on them. on the bike i have hit ikle birdy and nearly headbutted a seagul but managed to duck low enough to just clip it. in car only a squirrel.
