Kill switch?
-
Clutch in and step down through all the gears, using your brake to come to a stop. It's ok to maybe knock down one gear for a slow bend or to ease up a bit but not when coming to a stop

Ive got a few interested in this one if anybody else fancies it?

Almost a yes from me, I just need to inform my business partner & Brother that I may be off on those dates. He might even come along as he has a Fireblade too! (he's a pretty awesome rider, plus he's only 5'7'' & 11 stone. Any bike goes like a rocket with him on it).
I can't get hold of him right now as I expect he's in the middle of a field somewhere with no phone signal!!.
I'm going to be keeping the blade until late April/early May at least, currently & during the next week or two I'll be prepping it for potential long distance action!
Cool,
I will send you a PM
-
First week of January I will post a date up and will need confirmation shortly after.
Thats it Paul, you're week is up, nobody is coming with you now so hope you have a nice time on your own

It`s all been said above but having done 5 winters now, I can confirm, lots of thin layers. I have a one piece very thin thermal undersuit, chill out tops and bottoms and (I know its a rain suit) but I picked up a "Johnny jacket" at BMF last year for a fiver. I thought this would be good to keep the wind out so I stick this on directly under my textile jacket. This certainly keeps the cold wind out and the warm air in. As for gloves, get a decent pair. If monies a prob, use your summer ones with thin inner gloves (again as been said) Alternatively try marigolds (pervy sounding I know) but I`ve been told they work by keeping out the wind too.
Good luck in staying warm and ride safe.
Whats pervy about marigolds Neil?

I have no interest in rideing the ring at all, i assume that you intend rideing it , but the trip is a plan will have to see what other stuff there is around there
Black Forest would be a bit of a trek from there but it isn't far from the Koblenz - Bingen part of the Rhineland which is very scenic, or over into Luxemburg.
Ive just had a look on the route planner, the forest is a bit of a blat isnt it! I know that the ring has lots of great roads with views all around and was also looking at a trip to Luxembourg too, will have a look online at the other places you have suggested........thanks

Paaauuullll.....were waiting.....

I feel your pain! Last time I went on the ring I had just traded my zx6r for the ZZR only a few weeks before. I took it very very easy around the track but still really enjoyed it. My advice is go with your heart as the head thinks too much!

Yes I will most defiantely be hitting the ring but will also be having ride outs for sight seeing etc each each, best roads around in the black forest

Dildos for midgets?
-
The best thing about winter riding is the nice frosty air running through my air intake, feels like its got a turbo attached!
-
I might be up for joining you if the dates can fit in around my shifts, taking your brothers ashes to the ring sounds like a cool idea and, to me, doesnt sounds like a brave run at all, think its just over 250 miles from Calais.
-
Im working as usual! Why cant people arrange ride outs for mid week?
-
I cant get any leave in July so wont be able to make it
-
and if anyone has suggestions for the 2nd part of the trip perhaps we can put our heads together and get that organised at the same time ?
Black Forest

Does me bum look big in this innit?
-
Im going to head up on the last day as apparently is bargain central.

Im up for a week, was planning on staying on afterwards anyway, might even swing over to the Nurburgring afterwards

If he's happy mate he could always just meet us there, meet at the Ferry then its only just over 200 miles to the Ring, if everybody is happy we could do the whole trip in a day and he could meet as at the ring, Im happy either way. The more the merrier!
with regards to comms I have an ipod docking station that Ive rigged up so I can listen to Metallica as loud as possible, other than that I find hand signals work most of the time!
