Just passed ny car test and already have a 125 on a cbt, insured as having a provisional car licence, do I need to tell my bike insurance I've passed my car test?  Cheers everyone

I can't be certain but as you have to resit the theory test for your full license and they don't take car NCB into account, I wouldn't bother telling them.

  2. Commuting home this evening. Road is 5 lanes wide. 2 left lanes peal off and the other 3 are the start of the motorway. Uber driver in his 7 seater prius realised he's in the wrong lane and cuts across some cars to get off the motorway. I'm in lane 1. He entered lane 2 and then I saw he's not stopping moving across and cut me up at 40mph where I had to slam on the anchor to get in behind him before he went into me from the side.

I've a bright red and white cbr, lights on, a huge fluorescent yellow back back and he still went straight into my space.

Separate to this on the same commute home I was at a roundabout and last minute decided I needed petrol. But I ended up stopped at the lights on the roundabout in the wrong lane. Instead of cutting up the van to my left I waved at the driver and mimed that I wanted to go left. He gave me the thumbs up. He did the rev your engine mime. So I twisted the throttle a bit before the lights went green. Made me laugh and undo my annoyance at the earlier incident.

ME. I AM A KNOB, for thinking my Oxford Rainseal over trousers would keep me dry during my commute home. Why I don't listen to myself is beyond belief 😂. I know they are Sh*te, I've always commented on here how sh*te they are, but no, oh no. I woke up to see frost on the car windscreen, but the sun was shining :classic_biggrin:. Weather forecast saying fine and dry this morning but rain closing in, in the afternoon. I'm working in the office today, so its on with the Rukka Jacket, Bull-it Jeans, casual boots and the Keis gloves. I thought I would put the over trousers in the rucksack just in case the rain does close in, it might only be a gentle shower 😅. Its only a 40 min commute, mainly on Motorway and A580, but boy did it rain, and the spray from all the other traffic made for a good soaking (bearing in mind, I had only cleaned the bike on Sunday 🤬). Got home, torso was dry as a bone, feet dry as a bone, hands dry and warm. crotch totally wet through. Pleased to say the Oxford Rainseal Trousers are now in the bin, shortly to be accompanied by the over Jacket. 🤬🤬 something I should have done a long time ago.  Rant over 😂🤣

I bought the one-piece suit. What a waste of money. I get soaked every time. I now have separate trousers and jacket from armr and Richa a they are great.

I have the Oxford hinterland trousers and jacket. Can't really fault them much as they do the job but I'm eyeing up the new laminated suit from spada that's coming out in may.

  4. The shine seems to have settled a bit now. Bought it from a dealer so they must have used some polish on the dash. Now that a few weeks have passed that polish has gone and the glass doesn't really reflect the interior any more.

I've used these in the past on a sports bike. It works well, and is nice and centered

Ultimateaddons Centre Fork Stem Yoke Motorcycle Bike Mount Attachment Components | eBay

I've got ultimateaddons on my CBR. Can't fault it.

All the brands basically work the same though so just choose the one that has the best attachment to your phone/ camera for you. I used UA as I put my phone in their hard case so my phones touch screen still works in the rain.

  6. I've used UA for years. The clear screen can still be used as a touchscreen. I did consider a quad lock. Although my phone is fully waterproof, when the screen is wet it makes using the screen really difficult so it's useless in the rain. I ride all year around so UA made sense. Also a lot of YouTubers have discount links for them.

  7. I've got a nice little car for sale online. So many Indian scam centres contacting me. Then a genuine guy asks a few questions and asks what my lowest price is. I give him a price and then he asks will I accept 50% of the figure I gave him. Laughing in his face was the only way to ease the frustration.

Also I put the car in autotrader. It's come up as cat c which is incorrect. Contacted autotrader who said they can't do anything so now I've to get Experian to change things. No idea how long that'll take and in the meantime the car is advertised as cat c which will put off potential buyers.

I've only had this problem once, and it was after using a gloss type of dashboard cleaner.

Try cleaning it with a non-glossy product to remove anything that's on there already.

If it's a smooth material, then you can get it wrapped in a matt wrap (I'd get it done professionally, but you can DIY)

I've just collected the car and it was valeted before collection so maybe it'll get better. Wrap might be an idea though.

  9. Due to expanding family I've had to buy a bigger car. All is well but when the sun shines on the dash it creates a glare / reflection in the windscreen.

I've had a quick look online and there are mats that can go on the dash to stop the glare. But I don't want to use these are they look terrible.

Are there any other options like sprays etc that might help?

  10. We have a baby that likes to move about so I want something that can autofocus to zoom in and out to capture us during the call. There's loads that do this when attached to a pc but I can't find one that can be run just from a phone via Bluetooth or something

  11. I video call family on zoom or Skype regularly using my phone which is annoying having to hold it out.

Can anyone recommend a camera I could maybe mount on top of my TV ideally one that would have auto tracking and is compatible to use with an android phone rather than a pc.

The Five gloves look good. Do you have to set the level on each glove independently?

They have the controller on the right glove. The left will automatically change temp too so you don't have to change both. I've had a few five gloves as they fit me really well. They are made well and have hard scaphoid protection which is something I always look for.

  13. I have knox zero 3 MK2. They are good and warm but very thick and a bit clunky on the switches.

I also have heated gloves from five. They are battery powered. I've ridden on the motorway for an hour in near freezing and they were fine but needed the high setting so only had about 3 hours of juice. I've bought a second set of batteries so I don't get caught out on my commute.

Waterproof gloves will also be windproof which helps keep you warmer.

Both my gloves have been great in the rain too.

  14. Being a new rider will always be expensive as you are high risk.

Redo the quote with the same bike but a couple of years old. Sometimes there is a much higher cost for brand new bikes than slightly older ones even though the only real difference is the reg year.

  15. Not really a true nob as I felt bad for this guy.

Just sat at the start of the motorway waiting on the lights to change. There's a 125cc scooter that taken the on ramp for about 10 yards and is trying to go backwards before the lights change so he doesn't join the motorway. No other moving vehicles about. Anyway, he makes it just in time and scoots off down the side road however there's a police car that just came round the bend as he did the last yard to get off the on ramp. Blue lights go on and they follow him.

No idea what happened after. Hopefully the scooter rider felt silly enough in their mistake and they didn't get too harsh a punishment as they didn't get in anyone's way and tried to fix the issue as soon as they realised.

  16. Last night on M1 M25 and around London, so many people with no lights on around 8pm. Some mysteriously with just fog lights on. Some with front DLRs and no rears and with there being a lot of trucks kicking up spray from the road they are invisible.

  17. Buy a cheap cover. It'll keep most of the weather off. Also it'll keep birds foxes etc messing your seat.

I had a cb125f for about 2 years. It was never once inside but kept a cover on it at night and it survived well.

Also according to Bennetts, a cover will reduce the likelihood of theft apparently.

Was one of them yellow and on The Highway / A13 by any chance? Had the same thing picking Wife and Daughter up from theatreland. Bloody dangerous, and how come they can ignore the average speed cams?

Both black c class. Probably out burning the only £10 a week of fuel they can afford after the PCP payments are made

  19. I'm nominating 2 mercedes drivers today. Commuting home last night on my bike. On a roundabout turning right one merc decided to cut me up as I'm turning on the roundabout. The other turns right on the left turn lane. They then zip in and out of traffic and must have been doing 60 or more in a 30 mph zone in the dark where there's several pedestrians crossing.

They were chasing each other until I turn off a side road. Only a matter of time that they crash and maybe kill someone if that's how they drive.
