  1. Okay so, it was on the left side of the road (looked like it was parked) I go to overtake it. There is a man stood on the toad waving but I didn’t realise that the trailer was actually reversing into the road and I couldn’t slow down in time, so I went into the corner of it, flipped over handlebars and fell on my bum! I thought it was my fault but I have been told it was there’s, as they shouldn’t have been reversing on a A road
  2. Hehe thank you! So basically a car with a trailer attached was parked at the side of the road, I went to the right to overtake and it started reversing, I went straight into head on! Bike is smashed to pieces and so is my knee lol.
  3. Thank you! I have a surgery to look forward too but so far so good!
  4. Thank you! Don’t worry I will be saving for a new bike ASAP, I can’t give up now! The paramedic and a witness were both bikers and they were both so lovely too!
  5. Hello hope everyone is okay, I’m just having a lonely rant because I just utterly destroyed my motorbike... Just had a head on collision with a trailer and was rushed to hospital with a huge slice in my knee, so no more riding for me for a little while! Anyone else want to share their road accident stories?
  6. I did lol but unexpectedly my first bike got stolen. I put all of my savings into the first bike. Not only that but Christmas has just passed my dear and it drained my pocket. My bike is my life and I ain’t getting rid of it No one is suggesting getting rid of it, just don't put crappy tyres on it, saving money won't do you any good when your 2nd bike is in a ditch and your under a car, and in cold crappy weather the difference between a good tyre and a shit one is magnified Yeah I meant in terms of expenses etc
  7. I totally agree, get good NEW tyres professionaly fitted as soon as possible. We've had it good so far this winter and you don't want to be riding on shit tyres when it gets really cold ,wet and icy . With the greatest of respect, you should have taken the cost of consumables into account when you got the bike. I did lol but unexpectedly my first bike got stolen. 8. I can’t walk lol it’s 21 miles. Before you say take the bus, I’d rather pay £10 a week in fuel than £40 a week
  9. That’s great advice thanks, never actually bought tyres yet so lol is new to me
  10. I guess yeah, thank you for the advice anyways
  11. Hi there, sorry for posting so much within the last few weeks . I was just wondering if by any chance somebody from the North/East Yorkshire area ish was selling any tyres that would be suitable for a YBR 125? I really don’t have a lot of money and I rely on my motorbike for travelling everyday however my tyres are getting bald and they pick up a ton of water. I’ve slid a few times and I’m pretty scared to pick up any speed. If nobody is selling anything would anybody be able to point me in the direction where they’re cheap? Thank you all so much, hope you all had a good new year
  12. Hi there, my boyfriends YBR 125 has completely messed up. His bike will not turn on properly, he is having to faff with the wires to get the ignition to turn on. Can anyone recommend something we can do, some cheap wires to order to fix it? Thanks
  13. Does anyone know of any groups that ride together Near East/North Yorkshire that ride with those with L plates on? I’ve always wanted to have a big ride out with other bikers, but never really know where to go or where to ask? Thanks
  14. So I have a petrol bike and I’m still trying to set off smoothly. I can do it on most occasions but there’s still the clunk and a bit of delay before you can change to second. How can I set off smoothly without either stalling or making an awful set off ! Thanks
  15. How stupid though! I would have done something :/
  16. My boyfriends brother did a similar thing with his, he left the disc lock on it and came right off
  17. Damn that sounds rough! I bet I was sweet too... I still have the bottle, you can see clearly that my tyre had worn it down so I’m going to take it into college and ask if they have cctv down their, and when I do find out who it is I’ll smack him over the head with the damn thing and let loose! Perhaps
  18. I know, that’s what scares me! I tend to overreact with things going wrong with my bike as in the past with my old bike, the back wheel randomly seized up and stopped dead, so I get scared easily
  19. Yep. I definitely will be now
  20. But scary but that’s a good article! I would go and have a class with an instructor but I only have my CBT so I feel it’s a bit of waste of £40
  21. Just a little rant really, but today I rode home from college (it’s about a 40 minute ride, which isn’t bad) and I noticed some noises coming from my bike. I thought to myself “stop being silly Emma the bike isn’t going to fall apart” so I just carried on. Well, I got home and tried to walk it back - sat on it - and I realised it sounded like I was trying to run over plastic, and I thought eh?? So I put the side stand down, got off and looked and couldn’t see anything until I noticed a large plastic bottle WEDGED into my bike! Well that definitely didn’t blow into there did it!? Took it out and luckily my tyre had burnt half of it off, and that I’d didn’t get wedged in my chain and balls it up, so I am assuming some idiot has pushed it it! Any of you guys nearly come off because of others doing stupid things??
