  1. Chin up pal, you'll get there I've said this 100 times on this forum but it took me 6 times to do my module 1 (My excuse = attempting it on an RS) but i still didn't let that put me off. It makes the victory of passing all the sweeter
  2. I myself use a hein gereckie one, waterproof, has chest and waist straps. it's pretty good with plenty of pockets too. seems fairly well padded, wouldn't mind sliding down the road on my back with it on can't remember how much it cost though, but probably a bit cheaper than a kriega though
  3. I went to my local HG for my leather's, new them fairly well so they were honest enough and really helpful with the sizing. I'd try something on and think finally, something that actually fits properely, but turned out it was too big. The way to do it is to get them a bit too small, as leather's will stretch out after a few weeks of wear. Now my once tight leather's fit pretty snugly and comfortably

  8. Top Tip: Don't use an RS. Other than that. It's straight forward. I'll assume you'll be using a CG/YBR or ER/GS (depending on which license you're doing) etc. The swerve is easy, more of a flick really. The slow speed stuff is easy enough, you'll have loads of room to do the u-turn. High speed manouvers - Ring it's neck it second, 125's should hit 50kph in second. Once you're through the speed trap, close the throttle straight away. Get the bike upright and brake. Mostly use the front brake and use the back brake a bit. Be careful not to lock the rear wheel, if you over do it - Take your foot off and re-apply. You'll still pass. Take the figure of 8 as wide as you like. You're allowed to go wide behind the final cone of the slalom too (orange cones i think) - figure of 8 cones are blue. (Not very well known fact) Drag the back brake on slow speed manouvers, it keeps the bike up right. And use all the rev's you want if it's struggling a bit, don't just pop out the clutch. DON'T FORGET LIFESAVERS!! ESPECIALLY ON THE UTURN BEFORE YOU COMMIT TO IT! phew. that's everything. but really, it's not too bad best of luck!

  10. Mate you shouldn't have to pay a penny. If they didn't get everything covered, or have a good enough instructor:pupil ratio etc. it's their problem. Ring up and tell them that you shouldn't pay for the training to be completed. It's a one off payment!
  11. Yes mate, CBT lasts 2 years, in which time you can: Do your theory test, mod 1 and mod 2 test to get your full license. You need to have both your CBT and Theory certificate in date before you can take any practical modules. The original link i provided should give all the information you need. If anything is still unclear i'll be happy to help.
  12. Yell.com Just try some googling for bike instructors in your area, or ask some friends. You'll have to pass a motorcycle theory even though you've got your car license mate, but only if you want to go on to get your full license. All you need for the CBT is the provisional entitlement.

  14. This should help Basically, check if your current license has a motorcycle provisional entitlement, it probably will. If so, you take your CBT on a 125cc machine not exceeding 14.6bhp.

  16. Manual. Gotta do it sometime and may aswell do it from the off. Automatic is a waste of time in my opinion.
  17. I'm sure it'll go fine Miss Cat. It's hard to relax when you're nervous, i never could for the first few minutes but after that you calm down and it's just like a normal ride. Just think if you fail, so what, it's not the end of the world and try again. It's what i had to do with module 1, nerves got worse everytime, i was confident on my riding ability but just couldn't pull it off when it came to it. Eventually it worked at getting that license was all the more better. Best of luck and if you've done your best there's no regret

  19. I can't comment on the boot's but i do have a pair of buse's They're decent enough quality for the price, mine weren't that comfortable but i didn't wear them that many times. One metal heel protector did break off though which wasn't so good. I ended up carrying using my old frank thomas boots, so comfyyy

  21. I had both licenses whilst i was 17. I did get my car license first, but that's only becuase i kept failing module 1
  22. oh, i always only used to wear my boxers underneath mine If was cold, thermals.
  23. You may be in the wrong forum? Doing anything to increase your chances is an incedent is only a good thing. By the way, this topic has been done to death!!!!
