  1. My wait was 13 hours, had a go at the online theory test on internet and did okay so then had a look at how long the wait for test would be. Got one at 11 following morning as a cancellation and as had been driving a car for 25 years though what the hell go for it. Passed just with no more room for errors, got passing score but this was after 1 hours practice was a bit chuffed!
  2. I would go with the levers suggestion, gets rid of the larger stock ones and it is one of the main parts of riding his bike so if you get some nice ones he will love it. £150 will get really good ones like Pazzo's or something similar, which another blade rider can probably point out which are the best. Not got one myself but would love some non stock levers, but there is always SO much to buy!! Lol
  3. Very informative post, think most of us have been guilty of not wearing the full gear at one time or another especially in the summer. Don't think most of us would do it for a real ride, but there is always the excuse of ' just going down the road'. If that's really true would be better walking.
  4. Glad you had a good day, but your post shows a good reason for putting a location in your profile. Just down the road from you in Cramlington but didn't have a clue where you were in the country! Don't think you have to but gives more info for folk who might be able to help.
  5. Glad you got back to us, think we were all wondering! Well done!
  6. Good luck, and relax. You will have some classroom time before getting on the bike so have time to settle down (go to loo if needed) so don't worry.
  7. Headset on the V2 works great, battery life of about 5 days so no chance of it running out in middle of trip. You can now plan a route on computer I believe although haven't myself.
  8. When I was deciding it just came down to choice of 2 as had never had a bike specific sat nav. TT has not got MP3 capability (which I don't want). Zumo has not got headset delivered with it, have to supply and connect your own. My TT connects by bluetooth to helmet speaker and mobile if I wanted. Just my choice as if want to listen to anything would listen to the radio through phone.
  9. When I get to work use computer screen wipes all the time, 2 years old now and no damage!
  10. Last thing I need to upgrade from what I had as a learner is a pair of good summer ventilated boots, anyone got any recommendations. My Sidi all weather are great but could do with some with a little ventilation and lighter build.
  11. Congratulations, what kind of bikes are you thinking of?
  12. Ride magazine July issue says put them in a carrier bag when dry and then put them in the freezer overnight to kill the bacteria! Haven't tried it but in their review of summer gloves.
  13. I'd never even been on the back of a bike before my CBT in 07. Now riding 600 Hornet, but first bike was CG125 mpg was at least 100 or over! Never sure of claimed mileage by maker but that is certainly what I was getting.
  14. Congratulations, and good luck for module 2.
  15. I've got a Tom Tom Rider 2 specific for bikes and think it's great. Mounts on handle bars in seconds, waterproof and you get a Scala headset to attach to helmet. Got a speaker that goes in helmet without interfering with fit and mike if you want to connect to mobile phone. Uses bluetooth between satnav and headset so you don't have to connect your phone if not wanting to take calls which I don't. Only trouble is they are double the price of car sets. Best price I could get a year ago was £280 on Amazon official site for a new one. RRP 350 at the time. Only got it as the wife got new car and £200 sat nav was offered as a tempter, told salesman that we already had one and if he wanted sale would rather cheque for £200. Got the cheque! Good day for me, wife got new car.
  16. You could probably buy Newcastle United for an extra tenner with ebaying skills like that . Congrats on the bargains!
  17. You can certainly get a Caberg matt black or other style but you would be looking at £100, full 5 sharp rating though if that really means anything!
