  1. Does anyone with the draggin jeans recommend the hip armour? I fancy getting a pair, but dont really want to wait for a pocket to be stitched in as it delays the order by a couple of weeks apparently, and could do with them before then.
  2. Unlucky, my other half failed his module 2 yesterday as well for being a bit too hesitant on roundabouts - never had this problem before but never mind. I passed with one minor- didnt stick to the 40% line on a single laned roundabout lol Good luck for next time!
  3. Best of luck! It feels a lot easier the second time- you know whats going to happen and the layout of the test better! My module 2 is booked but not for a while yet lol Hope it goes well, if not theres always another attempt
  4. Hi, The other day I seen a guy with a rucksack and a nice compartment underneath the bag for his helmet. I cant seem to find it anywhere online! Im going to be taking a bike to uni every now and then (hour trip either way) so it needs to be waterproof with a decent amount of room in. I prefer the idea of having the helmet underneath the bag as my bag at the moment is full enough without having a helmet on the front too lol Are there any bags that you guys/girls can recommend please?
  5. Thanks for everyones advice! Passed today- 50km/h on the swerve and 51km/h on the emergency stop!
  6. I think thats part of my problem- the corner isnt brilliant for getting a lot of speed up, more a confidence issue I suppose
  7. Its sooo much easier to do it on a 500 lol They dont have to worry about getting up to speed at all!
  8. Messed my first attempt up but got my second attempt soon! Seems a random number, 32mph- 30 is much more achievable lol Out of 8 people on the day- 1 passed! 4 of whom hit a cone and 1 was 1km/h slow. Hopefully I will be part of the poll soon edit- Passed today, second attempt!
  9. Hi, Had my first attempt on sunday at module one- annoyingly I failed! I stopped in the box after the swerve but there was too much of the front of the bike in there too, I knew I had done it wrong straight away lol Im so annoyed as I never did this during training but nevermind! Next attempt all booked. My first attempt at the swerve I had it going lovely, swerved nicely and stopped in the box as you are supposed to (lol)- but it didnt read my speed he said to treat it as a practice, which completely threw me lol anyway trouble was on the first recorded (well my second go) I only reached 49km/h and did the same speed with the emergency stop speed. Everything else on the test was fine, would have had 0 faults if I had braked harder of course. I just need to find 1 extra km/h lol Out of 8 people that day, 1 passed. 4 had hit a cone, and my other half failed for being 1km/h too slow on the emergency stop- but second attempt he fluffed his gears and lost speed. As I said in the title, Im doing it on a yamaha sr125 and I find it really difficult to get it up to the 50km/h needed in the shortish space, I need to go faster on the corner I think but was wondering if anyone has any good tips about cornering it better? I know Im going to stop properly this time so its just the speed thats worrying me. Any tips are greatly appreciated! Thanks Claire
  10. Hello I am 21, have done my bike theory test, have had a full driving licence since I was 17 but have always had quads/tractors on the farm and recently got an off road ts 125 a few years ago. I completed my CBT yesterday and although it was my first time on the road with a bike, apparently my road positioning, checks, observations etc are spot on and so are gear changes etc...but my problem is basically clutch control on the slow parts- figures of 8, u-turn etc. Tbh I was expecting problems here! But anyway my plan was to go straight on to do the DAS- as I figured that with previous experience I might be ok (especially as some people go completely from scratch) but the instructor says I am not ready for this- fair enough- but he is sure that with three days worth of training I would pass the A2 no problem. He reckons I would crack the slow movement control problem on the first day. I dont mind being restricted for two years- but I dont want to stay on a smaller bike forever lol So Im wondering- is it best to go from a 125 to a 250/400 restricted and then, probably after my restriction is up, get a 600 (quite fancy a bandit/fazer )? The reason I ask is he says that a lot of people scare themselves with a bigger bike straight away and he told one of the other lads that if you stall a big bike you'll be sitting on the floor next to it! Thanks for reading this and any advice given
  11. If you have the more recent practice cd, there is an option for motorbike questions- where you log in. Good luck
  12. I had loads of trouble with the hazard perception when doing the theory for my car test- I have been practicing quite a bit on a pc 'game' dvd quite a bit so hopefully it will be ok first time for the theory test I have got in a couple of weeks! Well done for passing it though- and good luck with the DAS! But for anyone else having problems: I found that I was clicking too soon- bascially clicking in case something turned into a hazard! Wrong lol just remember its when something makes you change direction or speed
  13. Sounds like you had another really good day! I suppose it is good experience to ride out in the rain, just in case it is tipping it down on the test day! When is your third day? Cheers for writing up what you have been doing, its good to know what to expect!
  14. Thank you for your replies my next question is would you recommend doing the cbt as part of the package or before the das training?
  15. Thank you for taking the time to write it up! And your right, I will hopefully be at the same point as you soon well fingers crossed anyway! My main concern though is the difference between a 125 and a 500 but hopefully it will be alright when Im onboard lol Hope you get on well on Wednesday- keep us in touch with how it goes!
  16. Well done! Glad to hear you are enjoying it! If you get a minute or two, could you describe what you have been doing today? Would be good to know what to expect lol
  17. Hi everyone, Im literally just going through the process of doing my theory and CBT but Im unsure whether or not to go straight for the DAS or do the A2. I am 21 and have rode bikes (motorbikes, trikes and quads) on our farm since I was little but I have never had any 'road' experience so I have got concerns about doing my CBT and then jumping onto a 500cc lol I obviously would prefer to do the main test straight away but I have got concerns about the difference in riding on a bigger bike. Unfortunately, being a student, I wont be running out and buying a decent bike until I finish uni in a couple of years time (hopefully before though!) so this is maybe another positive for doing the a2! Which would anyone recommend from experience? Thanks very much in advance ps. forgot to add I passed my tractor test at 16 with no problems and my car test at 17, so I have been on the roads for a few years
