Is that what is in my callipers pot piston thing? Looks like a plastic end cap with a shallow cross in? -

So reassemble without the pads, reattach the break fluid Pumpy tube thing to the bango bolt. Place something between the pistons and pump. Then take the Pumpy tube off, disassemble the callipers again. Pump all the break fluid out. Is that right? -

I can confirm it is a bit late for that. -
Have the callipers off the bike, have split them in half. Broken a spring retaining screw (ordered replacement). Then Mrs In Brum ran out of patience, she was doing the other. Given them a bit of a clean and now at this stage... ... How do I get the pistons out? In the video on’t tube the garage mechanic used compressed air to push. They also did not seem to be solid like mine seem to be?

James in Brum replied to Marino's topic in Ride Reports and Pictures
I loved Rijeka when I was there. I did a bit of a tour around Istrian penisula and Split and Dubrovnik and. A few places Croatia was one of my favourite countries that I have visited. I did not go in land. Maybe next time -
Leaking fuel/petrol smell - more liquid in engine/oil bit
James in Brum replied to James in Brum's topic in Pitstop
Well you don't really want to eat the compressed air as that would just be wasting it, I'm sure you can buy cans of compressed air Used to be able to get it from computer shops and camera shops. Edit. Toolstation , Amazon, screwfix. Google is your friend Thanks, I did not realise you can buy cans of it -
I shall forward you my number through pm should you need it Thank you.

Thanks fella, I’ll take you up on that if I need but this thread really is because it occurred to me I would pay for mechanic video support (in genera not just this case) and therefore so might others and someone could make none

I was thinking most of Richzx6r who I recall Had had some bad luck employment wise I appreciate the free advice and I like this forum. Being in the zzr600 forum is nice but only as an adjunct to here Facebook is easy for videos and live streaming

Leaking fuel/petrol smell - more liquid in engine/oil bit
James in Brum replied to James in Brum's topic in Pitstop
Cool, won’t take them apart. Reading the book and it says I need ‘carb cleaner’ solvent and compressed air. Is this right? If so will Halfords sell what I need and how do I eat compressed air without buying a compressor? -
Good point re being a. Trained mechanic. Richzx6r is I think?

Leaking fuel/petrol smell - more liquid in engine/oil bit
James in Brum replied to James in Brum's topic in Pitstop
Thanks all for help and nice diagram fastbob I have to pause my mechaniccing for a bit. I have the carbs off as a bank and I have taken the callipers off the front of the bike (including starting to undo the bolts hold both sides together. I need a washing up bowl dedicated to bike Maintainance and some brushes for cleaning. I also need to work out how to separate each carb from the bank of carbs so will look at that later For now thank you for all your help. I cannot believe how much I have enjoyed myself so far. If I can get it back together again and make it work I will be as chuffed as I have possibly ever been, which is saying something because I have a career I love and a family and have done very groovy things in the mountains before -

James in Brum replied to James in Brum's topic in Pitstop
I turned the engine over, it did not seem like much ‘spitted out’ but it all looks empty now. Is that that job done? If so I shall take the carbs inside after I have taken the break callipers off -

Leaking fuel/petrol smell - more liquid in engine/oil bit
James in Brum replied to James in Brum's topic in Pitstop
First stage of learning how to put things together. Learn how to take them apart. There is fuel in the left hand engine bit (is it the cylinder?) and the engine won’t rotate. There is resistance. I think I know what this means. How do I get it out? -

James in Brum replied to James in Brum's topic in Pitstop
Hi all What is the vacuum hiding that I have to mark and remove? In what way mark? Regarding fuel @fastbob, the left most one I can see fuel when I twist the accelerator and move the pivoting disk thing inside the carb. This is not the case with the others. Just trying to get it all off properly and struggling to work out how. Ian Frog i think I know what you mean... -

This one has fuel in... The others don’t seem too. Just trying to work out how to release the accelerator cable now. -
