1. I rang the garage and arranged I will drop the bike down in the morning. New plan is to put it all back together again early in the morning, the drive it there.
2. Never hurts to fancy the actors I need my bike mended and then if I beet the speeding tickets I’m going to buy a Bluetooth speaker helmet and enjoy showtimes whilst I go slowly on my bike and enjoy them.
3. I’m lucky, we both love them Wicked tickets for my birthday a few years ago Something about Rent, I love the ‘ heart ‘ in it. Helpful, I feel really stressed with homeopathy, family shit and the bike. Going to see if I can take the bike to be mended. Either that or an emergency day’s leave to mend it myself having failed to do so so far.
4. A bit different than the usual posts here; Just bought film on itunes Need to get in touch with happier me
5. Everyone makes good points but on top of those;
6. Thanks. Sorted the idle just the leak now Might have more look later but most likely not.
7. Not definitely. I’ve had to put it away for today. Taken tank off. Going to think whether I would rather have it off the toad for a few more weeks and fix it myself or take to a garage. And have it to ride sooner. On the one hand I am chuffed to have taken from totally not working to working and running but not fully fixed. I would like to finish the job. On the other hand I am tired, have very little spare time and I miss my bike
8. Thanks Bud. I shall have to take it off and have a look. I have drops of fuel coming out of the carb drains plug thingy on two of the carbs. I have unscrewed them and put them back same thing. Whilst running not whilst off (after a few minutes) so I guess once the carb had drained. Any thoughts from lovely people? Haynes tells me It is the float chamber drain screws.

10. So, to the leak. It seems to not be leaking further since being off for a while but whilst the engine was on here is where I see th leaks. Going to take off the gubbins and have a look.oh and my fuel valve thingy still drips despite having changed all of the parts and gasket. It drop through it even when off. No idea on that one.
11. Try some bikes see if they excite!
12. Hank’s WD-40 The manua was helpful. I have gotten it to a safe idle of 1100 ish while warm. Spotted some leaking out of the carb or hoses between carb. Got to do something else then going to take all the bits off and have a look.
13. Unfortunately the manual says take it to a Kawasaki dealer because of emissions rules. I shall Google’s
14. I’m starting to think I should take this to a garage for them to sort. I don’t have the diagnosis or solving skills and I have been without my bike for too long now.
15. Needle is a little bouncy. I think I need to ride it to get it warm.
16. The idle is too low and it drops out. I have not tried riding it yet. I have not tightened up the accelerator cable at the handlebar yet. Not sure if that affects the idling? When I rev it drops straight away. I have not run it for long but can.
17. Would you use it? Do you miss it? Would it be useful or just fun? Did it make you itch to ride it? I’ve not been able to ride my bike for about three weeks because I have been trying to fix it around other responsibilities and I am absolutely desperate to ride it again. I don’t tend to pleasure ride but commute on it and without commuting would not get to use it as much and that would leave a hole in my life. I love my bike, I love riding it, looking at it and if I have time playing spanner’s with it. Conversely, my other great passion is climbing. I used to climb 3+ days a week, indoors and out, I have been on several holidays just to climb ice and mountains. I miss it but cannot fit it in so easily at the moment with how old the kids are. Buying more kit would not get me prioritising it at the moment. I look forwards to it in the future but no point spending money on it at the moment and as hard as that is I have to make peace with it. I’ve always wanted to be good at running, I once got to the stage that I could run a few miles. But never really made it a part of who I am. I might get into it sometime but no point in spending money. Not having good kit is not what stops me.
18. This is how it sounds. Any thoughts? Hang on need to add to a video platform.
19. I keep rewatching. The Bentley was winning?
20. I have managed to refit all the cables, hoses etc and reassemble the handle bar bit. The air box thing is back on. Just need to change the oil filter, put the new sump plug back in, fill with oil and put the petrol tank back on. Question: do I need to do anything to prime the system?
21. All the cables reattached to the right place but I did have to undo the housing at the handle bar and now I cannot get it back on. That’s a later problem. Struggling to get the big black thing with four ‘chimney tube’ type things on. I think it bolts directly to the carb to allow air in and sits inside the air filter housing.
22. I realise that I may not have the settings correct but I cannot work out from the manual what might not be right in terms of turning what screw thing in or out. I am trying to put the carbs back on and the second (lower) of the accelerator cables is being an absolute bast*rd!
23. I took out the main jet, needle jet holder and the pilot jet. They were all in tight and I put them back that way.
24. Okay gang. I have cleaned all of the four carbs, I have take. Off the bit with the spring and rubber and needle and cleaned. I have taken off the other side and replaced the little bits that look like rockets with the spring in to make the float spring (float spring maybe). I have checked all the main jets. I have put everything back together. Before I put it back in the bike what do I need to do? Just put it back and hook everything up? Have I missed stuff?
