  1. Totally disagree Opposite for me in fact Slow control, for move off's, same in petrol station's, parking, etc. Slow moving traffic apart I use it all the time.
  2. Thats may be the official line. I know how you feel. But don't think its the truth, Talking to my instructor,he's put in for 4 mod1's,& tried to hold several mod2's. Keeps getting told due to backlog & resced tests, about 6 week wait. I've posted on this before, the bike tester at St. Hellens mptc is pulled off bike tests to do car's. Loads of Bike testers from the old system have been made redundant,(1 tester left) to save money. Its a complete waste of time.
  3. Well in, Same as Cobz said, bit more gas, slip clutch, & bit of back brake, till you get used to it. I found with more power that got me out of most move off's,without wrentching shoulders out of sockets.
  4. Indicators, check ,double check by pressing,(I nearly failed, just got minor). Speed limits,20's, 30's, & national, try to get up to speed as well. Unless you do something dangerous, they don't go out their way to fail you. Good luck you'll be fine.
  5. Aldi gloves, £12.95, helmet £29.95 Protective jacket £49.95 Body warmer shirt £8.95 Kidney belt ( lidl) £3.95. Did'nt get the trousers sold out . Does for me, Made up just to be riding
  6. I done cbt on 50c ped,so after that its ,125 (restricted ) or ( 500) das
  7. Thought just me being paranoid, aka H.G, Liverpool, like you say not their fault, way its run, reminded me of commet or pc world Bought a pair boots on special £45, so can't complain really.
  8. Well in Get the mod1 & 2 sorted now, your missing the nice weather
  9. Think if you practice hazzard you'll get the hang of what they want you to do. Theory is just a memory thing, back to school revision. You'll be fine
  10. Well in another good result, for tmbf.
  11. Van for work, just passed test so bike for pleasure. To me its a daft ?, in the 1st place, then again I'm still exited gettingt on a big bike. This is a forum of bikers, just me or anyone else noticed a pattern to a previous member .
  12. Won't have a chance to have 1st go on my bike till after Easter, Its at daughters in Cheltenham, Sorting out insurance today & tax ,batt on optimiser,so 10 days & counting
  13. Well in , I Pipped you, ( only by a day),passed mod2 yesterday was thinking about you, Worth the wait though , Has'nt sunk in with me yet.
  14. Passed mod2 today, To all family who thought I 'd gone mad with this bike midlife crisis To everyone on here who's test experience , & like minded interest,& help ,
  15. As someone who had sleepless nights ,re mod 1. Good luck, Nothing there to worry about. Easy for me to say now, but check actual test vid in cbt exp. forum, Wish I'd seen that before mine.
  16. That is a big letdown The whole point of it was to do it in 1 go, If not you may have well gone the normal route, well in on mod1 pass though.
  17. Boots look o.k to me, at that price not bothered who looks at me feet.
  18. £500 sounds really good, test fee's are £90,& your b.b, Good Luck again for today
  19. Thinking the same, You must reread your post again, if you have paid £500 on training Your not sure on observation procedure !!!!, No1. sack your Instructor: No2. Sack your Instructor
  20. How did you do today with the 500, forgot to ask, what does that course cost, I'm on £700 up till now,
  21. DSA not having slots for mod 1 having to wait 4 weeks,(already ranted on that in another post), Strike last week, day I was doing mod2, they rebooked end of March, better to do it like you, hit & run, don't give you time to think,& worry too much.
  22. What with all the messing about with tests, should have done it myself. Good luck,
  23. Still loads of stock in ldl by me, bought the gloves tonight , Anyone know if they're doing Helmets, someone was asking about them at the till. Said they hav'nt had them in yet, but there on order.
  24. It's official goin by this weeks MCN, Due to the 6 weeks bad weather & backlog car tests are being cleared.with bike testers helping out. All booking's for mod 1's have been put back till its sorted. Sez questions were asked about the prob by some M.P or other, & Gorden Brown passed the ball to whoever does the DSA. Young Learners (not that I'm 1 ) need to have an incentive to take some further training, instead of this sh*te.
  25. As an explanation dsa said the delay was down to examiners not being available. I've been told Bike examiners have to do car's also, so as far as I know there is 1 at St Helens who does both. By coincedence she was coming back off a test in a car while we were there on thursday last week. No mod 1's, no mod 2', test ( loads waiting via attempted booking) but the only available tester is doing car test's, It's a joke, I've been told a lot of the bike tester's from the previous system have been made redundant , I had to go to Atherton for mod 1, at least they seem to have a system , i.e 3 in morn (mod 1) 2 afternoon (mod 2). The cost of the whole thing is a big factor. fail mod1 on a das, add £80 +, for 2nd go, Fail mod 2 add £150 / £200, 2nd go, if your doing Das at original cost: / £500 / £700,
