  1. Done all last week & yesterday training for test (mod2) today at 3.pm, to be told this morning its off ,"48 hr. strike" . Don't blame examiners crossing picket line or such, just thought a few days wait. DSA phoned my instructor with end of March date. Having been at test centre on & off all last week (St Helens) no mod 1's, 1 or 2 mod 2's its a mystery why can't just do it tomor. What with bad Winter, drop in bike tests, & general attitude of DSA,my instructor reckons he's ready to call it a day. Total farce.
  2. Some stuff I'd like there right enough, gona get in the q early, Is it 11th or do they have bits in before.
  3. I posted because although I had already passed my mod 1 when I saw your vid, thought it was the best I'd seen, have you thought about a mod 2 vid.
  4. Copied from another forum, sorry if it's been posted before. ">
  5. I was hoping to do that in Dec. i.e, 5 day course ending with full lisence. All training schools offer you a package for a price, What they can't do is guarantee you success, it depends how good you are, if you fail they simply charge more which they have to,extra test time & such. As I got told on here, unless your sh*t hot my advice is to take it a bit slower, concentrate on mod1 pass, then training for mod2.
  6. Passed mod1, 2nd worked for me,51k hazz,, 60 e.stop, never told instructor done it that way, Mod2 3weeks
  7. As long as its got provis bike entitlement o.k,d,
  8. Been thinking bout you, Well in must be great feeling, You deserve it after all hastle with cancelled tests & sprockets on mod 1 mess.
  9. Ta folks, test This Thursday so just have to ignore him, I know I won't have a hope if I do it his way. seem's a bit strange that he's an ex advanced police instructor an all,but if it works for me sod it. He did do a demo for us, but he must have gone through really fast By the way he told me to change to 3rd before the entrance to the curve not after , even I knew it was too slow at 20mph bike was a bit juddery, now its been mentioned I've realised that doing it all in 2nd, it must have been engine breaking after the speed trap that must have helped my confidence last time on the suzuki,
  10. Yeah seems the way I kinda made my mind up that on test I'd keep it 2nd through trap , can't understand why instructor would'nt at least let me have a go that way, been all through past cbt experiences on the forum, seems if its mentioned at all its a big vote for 2nd,just with him telling me on a 500 3rd was the only option Only thing I can think of he was fussy about my "banging" it into first said gently ease it in,maybe he's got hangup on ppl abusing his bike. Still can't work out why I had trouble with 50 in 3rd though
  11. I hoped someone had done it on the same bike,& 2nd is o.k. & not a gearbox issue, won't be changing up on straight though. ta Gazz means I'll have to ignore him, but the next time I do it will be on the test he won't know.
  12. Done practice for mod1 today ,but could'nt make speed on sweve hovered at 46 / 48. This is my second go at training at the actual site ,but its with a different training school. The last time I tried was in Dec. on a suzuki 500 (5 gear) I got told to stay in 2nd around bend accelerate on straight through trap,no probs doing it that way 54 /56 This time its a kwak 500 (6 gear) & I'm told to get it in 3rd before the turn "pootle" around bend gradually accelerate on straight & go through trap, instructor sez the 2nd gear method is for 125s not 500's & I was told a load of b*ll*x. Anyone know why I found it harder in 3rd to hit 50, I asked him if I could I try it in 2nd he was having none of it. I was a lot more confident in Dec, is there a reason he wants 3rd gear,I thought it may be its a 6 speed box on the kwak. Why else would 2 trainers give opposite advice.
  13. Kinda makes sense, You going to Atherton for it? good luck for big day anyhow.
  14. New year and determined as ever to get my licence for this summer. This won't really be my 2nd attempt as I never really got going on the 1st before Christmas, i.e/ 1 x 4 hr lesson ,to cover mod1 practice at the test station St. Helens which I done, followed by 4x 4 hr. lessons leading up to mod 2 not done Unfortunatley had a bad "off" at the practice centre (mod 1 booked 2 days later) so all went tits up. 10 years younger might have bounced a bit , its took 5 weeks this time to get back, can't afford to fall off much more. Funny thing even when I was in bed for 3 days and all the hospital messing after, only thing I could think about was passing.
  15. I thought that was the way to do turn filters,I always wait like a plonker for green arrow never been beebed or flashed from behind, seems after 20 years its wrong, but to fail you on that, thought as long as your safe & in control they don't go out their way to fail you,its not just the dissapoinntment its the time & money, sounds like a jobsworth with too much power you should only have got a minor in my opinion, gutted for you.
  16. I know its been done to death but going to daughters where my Bike is stored till I can ride it July, charged batt an all, is it best to start, or just leave it.
  17. I've got an xspirit, porto graphics, bit flash for me bought it off someone who gave up biking, dead light and although never had chance to use it on the road got told very quiet, list price of a new one around £350/£400 I think
  18. At the minute a mod 1 pass or fail would do,I know 2hrs is nothing for prep but at least I'd know what to expect, as for the roads, maybe the extra training could be targeted for what I really need mod 2 pass I know then it will help, maybe I'm too eager, can't concentrate on anything else but full licence.
  19. Only thing is this has its own slots, they can get you a test tommorrow if they want, every other school near me is back to the 6/ 8 week wait (do it yourself book),the instructer I had was great, funny feeling its what they're told to say.
  20. Did you have your own bike? I'm tied to the training school using their's
  21. Done cbt Sat, (now passed theory) everything o.k apart from a bit rusty,I want to do a das course now, put in for mod1 with maybe 2 hrs of training, then maybe another 2 hrs for mod2 prob is they want me to do 4 x4hr sessions first They told 2 others same even though the girl with me dropped bike kept stalling and had never ridden before other 1 had to return sunday as could'nt even go on the road I realise that they need to make as much as poss and would hope it's not what they tell everyone, but at that rate its going to cost £400 plus test fees plus hire of bike for test I felt confident as the 2 hr road ride went on,position and observation is already ingrained having rode for 10yrs and with the help of everyone on here's experience feel that I could at least have a go at mod1. Is this the norm?
  22. Well done good news you passed after bad luck with weather & bike,
  23. Well done I already posted on another thread about my theory, failed yesterday, can't get the hang of the clicking bit hazards perception, too slow or too fast, got 2 cheats, put back in next week its not gona beat me. Did you have a case scenario, mine was about pizza delivery in the dark, but as I already posted, the Questions opposite that seemed totally unrelated i.e "If you droped your helmet & it was scratched & damaged , what would you do?" followed by usual multiple choice, can't see the point.
