  1. Hi all. I still think they could be confusing to some. Not the best of pics. Regards.
  2. Had the above bike a couple of weeks. Its fitted with indicators either side of the headlight. These act as daytime running lights. I'm not happy with them and I suspect other road users, and especially those waiting at nearside road junctions view them with some confusion. They have the orange led bulbs and when turning either way one is flashing the other is static. I can't change the led's to white so I'm going to get some advice on how to isolate the continuous lit bit. I've had two cars pull out in front of me from a nearside junction. I suspect although not a hundred percent, a quick look by the driver and they saw orange and mistook what they saw to be a left turn indication. Some reviewing media riders have described them as a nice touch. I don't think there's any point having them. The bike has a nice round lit headlight when it's on the road. It's six hundred mile service is coming up and I'm going to ask if it's possible to isolate the continuous on bit. Regards.
  3. Good few bikes at Fimber today. Bit of a wet start for me traveling from Whitby. It brightened up the further I went. I was taken by this pristine little Francis Barnett. So took a pic.
  4. Got a pic on. Hole of Horcum car park, North Yorkshire.
  5. I might have managed to get some pics on.
  6. Hi all. Packed out at Fimber today. Main group were intending Sutton Bank. Bikes of the day. A Suzuki 500T in immaculate trim, and it sounded great. Also a very nice Sunbeam, think it was an S7. One of the old guys wasn't feeling to well and in need of some help from his friends. Just knocked the edge off it. Wont know until next week if he's ok. Regards.
  7. Hi all. Picked her up yesterday. Only done 21 miles, first impressions good. What I have noticed already, in comparison to the little YZFR, the little Honda is lighter and has a lot better steering lock to lock for getting the u-turns right. It also has a fatter rear tyre and some nice gold coloured Showa front forks. At present well pleased. Nice day for tomorrow so Fimber cafe it is for tea and egg and bacon pie. Regards and take care.
  8. Cheers all and thankyou. New bike was on for today. They changed it to Monday. . Regards.
  9. Hi all. Just ordered the Ultimate Addons bar mount for my Samsung Galaxy. I've downloaded the Cali Moto app for the navigation. Going to give that a try first. What ear buds, bluetooth or wired have you found to be the best for the nav commentary. Regards.
  10. Hi all. Some good news and completely unexpected. It's at the dealers. Looking at next week for collection. Regards.
  11. Hi all. I've ordered one in Candy Red. Got £2200 for me little Yamaha YZF 125 R. The wait begins. I'm 78 so I hope they can rush that delivery date up a bit. Times running out. .
  12. Hi. Been sussing dealers out and they all seem to be in the same boat. And that's where some bikes of all makes are. There's a world shortage of new bikes. Supply issues regarding ECU, ABS components, the virus, Suez blockage and the lack of containers are being blamed. There's a ship due in September and apparently there's some Honda CB 125 R's. on it. Been told that it's likely but not guaranteed to be end of September early October before getting one on the road. Some good news though, used bikes in good condition are likely to attract a decent price as desperate riders look elsewhere. Regards.
  13. Hi all. I'm about to order one of the above for delivery around September. I hope to part ex my March 2019 Yamaha YZF 125 R. It's not been dropped and unmarked. It's done 12500 miles. Full service history, last two done local due to the virus. It's had recent chain and sprockets and a rear tyre. It's got some R and G crash protection stuff fitted. Come Monday I'm going to respectfully try and get £3200 for mine against the new bike. I'm well aware that the dealers have to keep the lights on and pay the staff but in the past I've nearly always given in to a dismal part ex offer. I don't want to appear to be disrespectful during the negotiations. He or she will want to give as little as possible and I'll be trying to better their offer. Advice please. Where about do I want to be if I'm pitching to high. Regards. Granty.
  14. Hi. No I came in on the B1248 from Malton and Norton. I back tracked after a cup of tea and a slice of egg and bacon pie. Ended up at Hovingham, Byland Abbey and back through Hemsley to Whitby. Brilliant days ride. Regards.
  15. Hi. I went to Fimber last Wednesday. It was open for refreshments. Plenty of nice bikes there too. Regards.
  16. Hi. I don't know if its open at present, if it is Fimber Cafe on the B1248 would be a good starting point. Not bad to get there from Leeds. Loads of bikers were getting in there, pre Covid. I'm hoping for a visit a week tomorrow. Get refreshed and follow it up with a ride round the Yorkshire Wolds and then bomb on home back to Leeds down the A64. Regards.
  17. Hi all. As a temporary measure has anyone tried them heated pads. One of our local shops sell them for 99p. I'm wondering if they would work pushed down in between the glove and the back of the hand. They apparently heat up in contact with the skin, and are supposed to last several hours. I'm tempted to have a go until I invest in something more substantial. Regards.

Hi. Have you tried venting the tank. Open the cap and if it's not getting air in you might hear a slight whoosh as the air rushes in. Regards.
  19. Hi. Just a long shot here. I'm only on a 2019 Yamaha YZFR 125 but I sometimes get that feeling when I'm out on the bike, that some of the poke has gone missing. Sometimes I think it's just inside me head. I sus out a Shell garage and run a full tank of Shell V Power through her and it does make a noticeable difference. It might not help, but hope you find the right solution. Regards. Granty.
  20. Hi. Been out today. Whitby to Scarborough, Thornton Dale, Fyling Dales and back home. Cold hands. The roads were dry but dusty. Sunshine all the way. Just so great to be out there. Regards.
  21. Hi. Good to hear you got your bike sorted. As regards the clock resetting. Does it require a small amount of power from the battery to retain the presets. I imported a Japanese car and when I fitted a decent radio in it I kept loosing the presets when I turned the ignition off. It turned out the wiring loom to the radio was different to a European one. My situation was fixed by altering two wires in the loom. Regards.
  22. Hi. I was like this and I feel your pain. New rider at 70yrs. Started on a Piaggio MP3 then Honda CBF 125 and now a Yamaha YZFR 125. In the early days Iv'e seen me get all the gear on and then walk away from the bike and go back indoors. I was lacking in confidence. The Youtube training vids and practice and more practice did it for me. It's brilliant when you come through to the other side. You'll get there, keep at it and don't let em knock you back. Regards.
  23. Hi. Mines on the right hand side. It's a Drift 2 HD and I don't venture without it. I record interesting journeys and add the footage to my computer. The main reason though is for insurance purposes. Iv'e been very lucky and so far have got through without a coming together. However Iv'e had motorists pulling out in front of me, running red lights and a couple using their mobiles, drifting towards me. Most of us will have heard the horror stories, I never saw you. It was your fault not mine. The lights were at green when I set off, and the classic, Don't go through the insurance, get it mended and I'll pay for it to be repaired. Yeah right. I'm sticking with that little camera just in case. Regards.
