  1. My suggestions would be to start checking from the beginning... Start switch, wires, starter motor. Could you try to maybe push start it? Someone here suggested once to try and roll a bike on gear to check is everything inside engine can move smoothly. Thats just my thoughts as a non mechanic but a bit handy person ;) Good luck :thumb:

  2. I wanted to book my theory test today but was unable over the internet and over the phone :( As I have foreign licence DVLA sent me UK counterpart but it seems they forgot to register it or something  I spent 1hr on the phone calling DVLA only to been told I am not on the system at all  I will have to send my counterpart back to them with a letter and will have to wait till they sort it

    F**K IT

  3. Hmm I could do with some trousers but how much protection do you think they will offer? Doesn't say any of it's waterproof either.

Same goes for the helmet, though that would have to be to EU standards right?

    It does say

    all-weather protection

    And helmet

Material – PC for ECE 2205 Standard

I will definitely get a pair of trousers as I ride in my normal jeans now  Also could do with a pair of boots instead of my work safety boots :(

Lol I didn't check when this sale starts and I just went to my local store to find nothing  But as the weather is beautiful I just had a great ride  Even got 2 nods but out of 6 so the score is not perfect lol

  4. Looks like all is fine

    Found with my friend Google:

    Choke Design

Starting a Honda CG125 and not being able to idle with the choke on is totally different to most other makes and models of motorcycle.

It's because the choke is very primitive.

Nearly all chokes (except the Honda CG125 one) increase the idle speed when they are switched on.

Because the Honda CG125 does not increase the idle speed, you have to do it manually by opening the throttle slightly.

All engines need both choke and the idle speed increased in order to work (when engine is to cold to work without choke).

So the Honda CG125 needs the throttle held open slightly and only then can you start the bike (while its open).

Other makes and models of motorcycle would only start if the throttle is closed (if it was open you would flood the engine).

Sometimes the Honda CG125 might require the throttle closed to start the engine (but the second it starts you must open the throttle).

This will only happen after at least one un successful start with the throttle slightly open, this is because there would be some un burnt fuel in the engine.

    Thanks everyone

  5. let me clarify.

when the choke is on the revs increase...

Thats the problem, they doesnt increase. I need to twist a grip to hold the revs up. They increase when I switch choke off :?

If its a chinese scooter, then haynes do a generic manual,. if not then one off the model that was copied should be a good base.

I don't know what bike you have just that it is a chinese CB125, as you haven't said, so i can't be more help.

    but hope you get sorted..

Bike is Kaisar 125-23, body is a copy of CBR125 and engine is a copy of CB125

  6. I am not sure if its connected properly but I know it works in some way. Like I said when its cold I can only start my bike with choke on. The way it works on my bike is this:

I start the bike with full choke (but also I need to keep revs up by twisting grip)

After 30sec - 1min (depends on temp) I can switch it off and after another 30sec - 1min I can release grip and bike wont cut off

There is no other position than "full on" or "off" on my choke as I feel. When I move lever by 5mm from "full on" position, revs are going up a bit and there is no difference at all if I move it to "full off" or back to "95% on".

Lol I hope you understand my descriptions, I am still having some holes in my english vocabulary

And don't get me wrong, it isn't really some big issue. It would be just nice if I could pull a choke, then start my bike while putting on my helmet and gloves. So is it some carb fault? Can it be adjusted? Should I just get a carb from original CB125? Any other thoughts would be appreciated :)

  7. Hi everyone. I have managed to sort my cutting off problem and my bike is running fine now  Question I have now is what may be wrong with choke? My bike won't start without adding some revs but with it starts first time and without any problem (when cold and choke on). I can live with it but its just a little annoying. There is a lot of free play on my choke switch like 35-40%. Not sure is it normal? Also, when I start my bike with choke on after about 30sec - 1 min I can switch it off and when doing it revs are shooting up??? When I had my air filter box off I have seen choke is closing air intake as it should but I think revs should increase as well, right? What may be the reason of this and possible solution? I am pretty sure there arent any more screws on my carb I can play with :?

    Thanks for any advice

  8. A little update. Well, when going to work yesterday bike felt a bit better. It died 2-3 times but I think that could be due to too low idle set by me. When riding back home on the evening it also died 1-2 times but again, I am unsure as I may not let it warm up properly. I will start it in a minute, warm it up and go for a ride to check.

Also I am not really sure about choke. I still keep my bike in the kitchen so it starts ok when I take it outside but when I'm trying to start it after work I need to use a choke. Problem is I can't just start it as it wont hold revs up on choke. There is no difference in revs when choke is on / off. But when I pull choke while riding bike dies instantly and starts only with choke after my work so it seems choke is working in some way??? :? I'm so confused...

EDIT: Ok, just had a nice ride and it seems problem is sorted. Looks like revs were set extremely low. When I started the bike they felt like 2-3k (my rev counter lies) and they didn't change after 10 minutes of stationary running. But after a short ride it started dying again and I noticed revs were really low so I turned them up to when it sounds as a nice tickover

EDIT2: Would you say its a bit too high? I would... :?

Ok, I think I will get the revs a bit down. But woohoo, looks like just some fine tuning left for me and I can enjoy some riding

  9. Tank is over half full. Well, there was one of them hoses on top of old filter that looked like it was folded in half. Could be that when I sit on bike that hose was squashed even more. But I have changed it for much longer one when fitting new filter just now. Maybe that will solve my problem. When I start the bike it can run for 10-15 minutes without any problem so it seems to be only riding problem. Thanks. Will let you know after work if the problem is still there.

  10. Thanks, than I fiddled with correct screw. Any idea what may cause this cutting out when riding? I have just fitted new fuel filter and as it is clear one I can see petrol flowing as it should on idle but my problem is only when riding :(

  11. Another picture from top:

red arrow - screw I adjusted; yellow arrow - strange knob??

Also I checked fuel filter and I dont think its good that its empty inside? Another thing, is it normal there is no any on/off tap under tank? There is some bit with 2 pipes going to carb but it cant be locked? Although when I removed tank, petrol isnt leaking... :?

  12. Looks like I played with mixture screw then. But is it normal when I turn it revs will go up? And I didnt really notice any other screw :? I'll go and have a deeper look :) I've also sprayed WD40 around air filter box without any result. Also my sparkplug has been changed by previous owner to NGK. Thanks

EDIT: here is marked screw that I played with. Picture is from right side of bike

Here is picture from left side of bike. Only other thing that looks like it may be some sort of regulation it knob marked with arrow :? Maybe anyone else will see something I missed :(

  13. Hi guys. I have a problem. My bike is cutting out when Im riding. It starts ok and tick over is fine when stationary. I would say there is something wrong with carb as choke is also a bit different as it should be. When I switch choke on I can't hear any revs increase but I know it works as when starting bike after being parked a few hours outside I need choke to start it. But I also need to keep revs up by hand. I've tried to increase revs regulating carb but it doesnt help. When I start to ride its fine for a few minutes but then as soon as I engage clutch and release acceleration it dies. I need to stop then, move choke lever 2-3 times and it starts again and I can ride until I want to slow down / stop again. After a few times its getting harder to start it and then it starts dying while riding just like it wont getting any petrol. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Oh and bike is chinese 125 with old CG125 engine copy

  14. Anyone knows by a chance how exact those copies usually are? I am thinking about swapping a few parts for original CBR125 parts like instrument/clocks panel, maybe rear swingarm, brakes. With a few better quality bits I can make cheap semi-decent bike out of it lol  Cheers

  15. Well we all buy what we can afford and even cheap stuff is better than none  Of course it is better to buy new and quality brand items as you can be sure they will protect you better than some old, cheap stuff. But in my opinion items are getting better with price rise only up to a certain point. I doubt £600 jacket would be any better than £300 good company jacket so I wouldn't waste my money on anything TOO expensive. I just for example can't understand price range of those Shoei helmets. How £600 helmet can be much better than £200 helmet?? Of course it may be a few grams lighter and made from some outer space material but come on... Its like difference between good MP3 player and Ipod, technically they are almost the same, even some players are less annoying than Ipods but APPLE sticker just adds 40% to the price...

But thats only my personal opinion
