Get yourself on foc-u for advice... Answer your questions better than anyone here as they own fazers
-
alot of fazers suffer with this, thrashing the bollocks off it in low gears (yes right to the redline/limiter) usually solves it
-
Put it into second, run down the road and bump it easy enough
-
my bikes suffered a clunky gearbox since i bought it 6000 miles ago with 13k on the clock. It glunked in first to second and strangely second to third :'( The gear rearset was setup correctly with the dot inline with the gap, since then ive moved it further down so the dots not inline strangely the gearbox seems to clunk less? :rolleyes When i bought it to me it looked slightly bent (could this cause it?) thankfully it doesnt suffer with the dreaded jumping out of second Should i be concerned? i dont have much confidence with it atm and its even causing me to think about selling it incase it does go majorly wrong

louder the better tbh i wouldnt worry about it, loud pipes saves lifes
-
Buy a second hand after market can off ebay, there should be loads for CBRS!
-
Could be water on the leads, you washed it or got it wet recently?
-
Its carbed, for the extra power 8mpg less doesnt bother me tbh as its running how i want it atm. Just wondering if it will cause implications.

Running my Fazer on K&N, Motad downpipes & A GPR Racing can, since changing the downpipes from OE i've noticed the MPG drop from 48 to 40? or could it be due to the cold weather? Bike certainly performs alot better, better low and mid range dont notice any puffs of smoke.

Heard nothing but good from pilot 2s i rate storm 2s if you can get them
-
Yes when idling, 2-3 mins though max.

Tried it riding home with no headgrips/head lights and it fired straight away. 57w heated grips on full with headlights cant help the battery much
-
Stopped my engine at the lights to only to notice it takes two turnovers to fire the engine w hen its hot. previously the bike wud fire on the button. cold starts are on the buttom. seems strange it not doing this previously. I did have my heated grips on full with lights on dont know if this would affect it. Or am i being paranoid

What did the spark plug look like when you took it off? Ring could have failed? Bike should have been smoking
-
Moto guzzis are noisey and will take some getting used to. If you wanted smoothness I'm shocked you never bought an il4! If your not happy take it back to m and s they will sort you out.

Could be a number of things, fully synthetic oil causes false neutrals. Is the clutch adjusted correctly? Take more time changing gear. Gearbox won't be damaged unless a numpty owned it before you

fitting braided hoses tomorrow, whats the correct way they should sit to the master cylinder? Both hoses are the same length http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/396054_2951042888844_1044535061_33141495_627676833_n.jpg http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/396487_2951044888894_1044535061_33141496_1048781620_n.jpg

Cg doesnt have a filter, presume ur 500 does? 5k miles would be fine.

Note: I did come down from a 750. Good points: - 50MPG average will do over 55 if you take it easy - Easy to maintain, tanks held in place by 3 bolts literally. - Handing is sublime, throw it anywhere you want and it will come out. Kept up with many sportbikes with ease. - R1 brakes upfront great stopping distances - Topend powers decent - Sounds lovely with an aftermarket can. - At 95bhp (Mines probably pushing 100+ now) insurance is half the price of a 600 sportbike - Paint jobs a good finish. Bad points: - My biggest gripe with the fazer is the gearbox is clunky as hell, feels like its going to fallout at times. - Rear calipers prone to seizing, best off replacing and buying a thou caliper. - low and mind range is not the best, but then again its a 600? K&N does improve it - Rear suspensions basic, aftermarket ohlins solves this but @ £700 - Downpipes are shocking, yamaha have coated this with such a thin coat of pain its unreal. Would I buy another one? Of course, maybe a thou next time though. http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/397771_2858408733048_1044535061_33103260_319903392_n.jpg http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/s720x720/405298_2858409813075_1044535061_33103262_176519193_n.jpg http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/395716_2858411813125_1044535061_33103266_1809375884_n.jpg http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/388192_2858408013030_1044535061_33103259_708452471_n.jpg
