  1. Problem I've found responding is it takes 5 minutes to put all my gear on, I now helmet, gloves and that's it. Been biking over 9 years now through several winters, passed IAM. On anything but town roads full gear for sure. With anything but injected 125s you'll be faffing around with the choke taking up your time. It's great though, I can overtake others also responding which means money in your pocket.

  2. If you've got a local fire department, if they've not got any already (we've got three) they can use them for training. Getting hands on with the different buckle types is really helpful. I had a rider speeding in a 30, taxi cut across him.

Both my bikes have ABS... apparently, I've never had it activate. I guess the only way it could be classed as an error is if someone was riding like a hoon and then just grabbed a handful of brake.

But isn't that what you do in a MOD 1, my back end locked up at the very last 6 inches before I almost hit a cone. Nothing was said. ABS makes a very noticeable jerking motion at the wheels. Only tried it in a car though, wouldn't do it on a bike.

  4. Okay first impressions I love it, second impressions I love it third impressions it has some things that aren't perfect but damn I'm loving riding it.

I've never been on a grom but size wise it feels small and nimble, the suspension is firm. I've done 50 miles so far and I'm trying to find an excuse to go out on it. Around town it excels, on single carriageway it slowly gets to 55-60mph. The Speedo seems a little optimistic. The complete lack of regenerative braking (engine braking) is slightly disconcerting as you have to go heavy on the brakes or plan ahead and brake sooner for longer. The app doesn't work so I can't look at all the computer side of it. I've had the side panels off and found the tracker blinking away but I can't authorise my number on the app. Lots of others with same complaint. The dealer hadn't removed the transport lead so I couldn't charge externally. YouTube helped me out there.

Really pleased with it, I think most of the money has gone into starting the new company and the motor and battery tech. I've removed the rear pillion paraphernalia to shave 1.6kg off the weight.

Everywhere I go it feels like everyone is looking at me going ohhh electric bike. As an introvert that feels weird.

whan does it arrive? Make sure you put pics on here!

Came back to ask... How long does it take for them to sort a bike out? I thought they wanted my money. Must be on a container from China.

  6. Ordered my first new bike, it's electric. My old Suzuki has fork oil seal problems that I've tried fixing myself twice and I've just given up on it. Probably needs new stanchions. The TC Max fits my commute well and I can charge at work so almost free travel. I've ordered a public charge cable adapter for it from aliexpress so I can travel the 80 miles back when it needs its service to maintain it's 5 year warranty. Have ordered from speedwaymotorcycles.co.uk just felt like sharing 🤷‍♂️

  7. Giving up now is a bit pointless the damage was done before you started taking precautions. My tinnitus has got really bad this year to the point I've been feeling like what's the point anymore, death would fix it, but not thinking about killing myself as I've got so much to live for if you get me. I think mine was from going to concerts without hearing protection, motorbike hasn't helped but that's when I got ringing in my ears straight after.

Getting plenty of sleep, not drinking alcohol and coffee, relaxing all help.

I’ve heard the “I couldn’t own a bike, I’d kill myself” so many times (not usually at bike meets). So tempting to reply “well you’re a fecking idiot, then”... but it’s just not worth the hassle.

Yes, two guys at work. I've given up riding, if I got on one now I'd kill myself, they're just too powerful...

  9. In regards to there being two TDC's (I was not aware) although I thought I had pretty much followed the instructions to the letter I think it will be worth revisiting this aspect.

Many thanks for your help so far :D

There's only one true TDC, but it can appear to be at the exhaust side or intake. It's been a while since I looked at one so do read up on it as it sounds like you weren't aware and may have set it wrong.

  10. So I'm trying to put this thing back together after removing the top lower bush. Won't go back in, now I remember thinking bushes need pressing back in. Am I right in thinking it needs a special tool of which I'll never use again?

For clarity I can't get the oil seal back on because this bush isn't sitting flush.

  11. When I first got my motorbike yes all the time. But then slowly but surely it was all about going faster and faster. I did use to enjoy cycling all over the countryside on my push bike. Spent 8 hours going to London and back once.
