  1. Also from what I found on internet on CG125 engine choke won't increase revs. (Lumor_uk confirm??)

One of the times I rebuilt my carburettor (3 times now) it did, but all the other times like now it doesn't increase the revs and it's running pretty damn sweet at the moment :P

I think the revs increased when I was missing the pilot screw, had fallen out due to being loose.

  2. Its only £15 for the mod1 :) Not £75!

EDIT, plus, if you know the dimensions, just measure how many parking spaces u need to go through for the corner in an abondoned or not in use car park :)

it's £15!!!!???? Are you having a bleeding laugh  is that ALL!!??? must go check.

edit: it wouldn't let me check, just told me booked...cost £15.50. Couldn't find how much it cost but anyway I've booked it for June 25th, though I think I'm on holiday then so will have to reschedule it. Won't bother with buying the cones

    How much is mod 2?

  3. remember that your speedo is likely to be under-reading your actual speed by about 10%). The swerve test is something you may need to put into practice one day to save you and your bike from potentially serious damage - easily worth £15 in cones to explain for the wife...

cheers :) but with regards to my speedo, as mentioned in the pitstop thread my speedo says I'm doing 80-90 when I'm doing 52 (GPS). It seems to register 30 okay. I have swapped clocks from a 1982 Cg125.

  4. Wondered this as mine seems to do some weird clutch thing, I also have car oil in mine. Anyone else back up this claim or has everyone not been so stupid? Will give bike oil a try.

Do motor factors sell bike oil? Don't want to go there and look a prat. They sold me a bike plate and battery.

  5. Sorry i forgot to mention. Whenever i pull the clutch in i roll off the revs, and dont apply them again until the clutch is at biting point.

You shouldn't rev at the biting point, you should rev when the clutch is fully engaged. Sorry if I'm wrong but I think that's what I was taught on my CBT in Feb. You only rev at the biting point when you are going from a stand still to first.

You should come off the throttle when changing gear, your first post makes it sound like you are really nasty to your bike :? Maybe we should swap?? Do you drive a car, I change gear more or less the same apart from 1st.

  6. i payed 40 quid for my rear tyre and that was fitted. grips not to bad either.

although the tyre was a full inch bigger than the standard size .. does this matter much. i've done around 1000 miles since

    with no worries

Width or height? Height would change your indicated speed.

  7. Before we go stuffing gum in to exhaust pipes, are we sure this isn't a little hole in an elbow joint or in the bottom of a can to stop water accumulating?

This is what I've asked, as mine is like this.

  8. Hiya, Did you manage to get this problem sorted? If so, what did you do? As I am having the same issue with my CG125.

It's been doing it for a while now, although there was only about 5mph difference. But today I was riding alongside my fella, and as he was doing 40mph my speedo said I was doing 50. :(

haha same problem here too, but while doing 50-60 (haven't a clue, probably 50) it said I was doing 90.

I had bought a cable off ebay that snapped, replaced it back to the old cable and now it's over reading. I bought the new cable because the speedo wasn't working, put another set of dials on which worked. Also the prongs that went into the speedo drive in the wheel were snapped so replaced that.

  9. I.ve found it takes a while for a new filter to become saturated enough to let fuel flow freely through it, starving the carb of fuel till it is.

If you've been running the carb off an oldish tank (rusty) might be an idea to spray carb cleaner through all the jets.

Know where you're coming from btw, I've stripped my carb 3 times in a month. In the end i replaced the whole cylinder head and rocker section with a spare engine i.ve got. Was drinking/smoking more oil than petrol. Is perfect now.

  10. Sorry for thread jacking, got a Cg125. My exhaust has 2 holes on the bottom about 2mm look like they've been drilled. One at the bottom of the down pipe the other at the bottom of the back box. I was told (down the pub) they were drain holes for condensation to prevent rust, is this not normal then? Its quite noisy, though it is an '85.

  11. Hi sorry to hear about your troubles, its a new bike so don't worry. By law they have to fix it. Keep a record of any visits, receipts etc if you haven't got them then get them. You may need them further down the line if it all goes tits up again and you need to make a claim in court for your losses.
