  1. i have a head which doesn't fit most helmets, seems i'm an odd shape, lol.

i have tried on dozens of helmets and can only wear 3 with comfort.

one is the shoie neotec but at £400+ i'd be s**t scared to wear it in case i dropped it. the other ones are caberg downtown s but as an open face i can only use it during the summer, the last one is the LS2, a cheap £70 lid but with a 4 star rating. i have just bought my second one, the new 370 easy, a flip up lid, and it is so comfortable, average weight, built in sun visor and good ventilation. pinlock ready too. if i have the money i'd deffo buy the neotec, but for now i feel happy with this one (i'm hoping i'll never get the chance to try it but confident it will do the job)

  2. Hi Keith, how's the recovery from the op going?

slow mate. i keep thinking today's the day i'll try the bike then i start getting ready and off the elbow goes, pain and aching.

i know it's better than it was but still got pains in the joint, see surgeon on Monday so i'll see what is what.

fingers crossed it will keep improving. i'm bored, want to get back to work (OMG I've finally lost the plot) :raspberry:

  3. bought last year for my son, but he hasn't got round to doing his cbt yet, so i run it about from time to time. but it seems to take ages to settle into the idle. was wondering if anyone in or around the Sunderland are could have a look at the carb for me. happily offer a few pints of nectar for any help.

  4. I had a similar incident where I filled up and went to pay for the fuel with a flip front helmet on, in the up position. They took payment then told me they would refuse to serve me anymore if I didn't remove my helmet.

I tried to explain I was no different from anyone wearing a cap or hoodie, but I was shouted down.

I've since never been back to Morrisons.

Tesco/asda/sainsburry all happy with flip front.

  5. surgery done yesterday. left elbow/arm all bandaged up. pain was nil after nice anesthetist gave me a nerve block under anesthetic. but it's worn off now so pain gradually getting worse. be a few weeks before we know if it has worked.

i'll keep you guys informed of my progress.

anyone fancy coming over to wash my bike

  6. i read about the recall.

i'm sure it said they would be doing the replacement at the service rather than a full recall.

but no recall or suggestion of any notice at my local BMW dealer that they are going to do anything yet.

the fault turned out to be a worn fuel pump control unit.

replaced under warranty and had new Tyre fitted at same time.

seems to be running ok now.

  7. went out for a run yesterday, got about 30 miles into the country and at 50mph the bike died, i don't mean cut out i mean died. everything, no electrics, nothing.

managed to pull up ok (had swmbo on back).

turned ignition off then back on again, nothing, no lights, no LED display nada. did this a couple of times then got all lights etc back on. however, it would turn over fine, but not fire up.

so had to call BMW breakdown and get them to arrange recovery to my local BMW dealers. all in all over 3 hours stuck in the middle of nowhere, wind howling and no shelter. lovely ride out. :crybaby:

got to wait for a call to see what problem is. so glad it is still under warranty. :booty:

and got my new comfort seat coming today

  8. seems to be running ok at the mo. think it might have been a bit dampness. have given it another good spray of wd40.

got to let it stand until next weekend so will see how it goes then.
