Got my theory test on Saturday morning, but if I didn't have that I'd be booked on a bikesafe day courtesy of TFL.

Nob of the day goes to the few GS riders on the way to work this morning. One was sitting on my arse so close I was scared to brake, even when I stopped at a set of lights his front wheel was 3 inches from my exhaust. The second almost took me out whilst filteting as I didn't appear to be going quick enough for him.
I thought these fecking L plates are meant to mean something. Really pissed me off.

The news was saying it was a boat carrying fireworks. Just that shockwave would have killed anyone in at least a 5 block radius surely.

Whilst looking at the bikesafe and other courses about I came across this video which might be of use to those new on the road like myself.
It gives some nice clear errors and solutions on common mistakes we might make.

Hmm everyone experiences these things differently. Maybe next time buy from sportsbike shop (in person, alas not online via the referral link) and you can test ride some of their lids on your own bike. Cos, as you're probably aware, no refunds on ppe...
I did purchase from a shop and not online, which is why I will be giving them a call tomorrow to see what they say. It wasn't SBS as they are too far away when I can't use motorways on the bike.

Great lids. Let me know how you like it
The ride home was weird... I couldn't hear the bike anywhere near as much as I can in the Scorpion, but the wind noise was next level. I don't wear plugs at the moment as most of my riding is commuting into London, so mostly below 30. The ride back from the shop was NSL and the wind was way louder.
I will see what the shop says on Monday about it.

OK on the search for a good rear paddock stand for helping with the maintenance of the bike. The bike only has a side stand so I'm in need of recommendations to lift the rear wheel.
It doesn't have any locations to fit bobbins, so I'd have to get something from R&G is that is the option.
Thanks

There's a fairly decent looking TV Licensing email doing the rounds at the moment. Warn your older parents who buy the license online.

As usual the rules do not apply to 'officials'.... Cant keep that 2m distance.

Riding into work this morning I came around a corner and found two of our finest traffic officers standing at the side of a road holding a funny looking camera . So as I rode past I smiled nicely and they just stopped pointing the camera-thingy at me... I might have been going just a tad over the limit but I was following one of those car things who's indicators don't work

Yeah ok it was the only app I had on my phone that would track me.

So I had to take advantage of todays weather with a little ride out. There's no pictures of my stops but Rykers had a few nice toys in the car park, then down the A24, A29 towards littlehampton/bognar. Along to worthing, brighton and seaford, then back to brighton and back up towards london.
The app stopped a couple of times so the milage isn't that spot on.

Being a new rider on a poor little 125, I have to admit that although I know how to maintain a car, I have little in the way of ideas on how to maintain a bike. I'd love to spend an hour of two with someone who can advise me.
The other reason is as said we've got to push our poor little bikes to the limit when on NSL roads.

I'm waiting for my theory to get more than the mighty 14.7bhp I currently have, but as I don't have storage for multiple bikes and it's mostly for commuting I'm not sure I'll be going super high on the power stakes.

Got knocked off. RIP calf ligaments and S1000R.
Sorry to hear that, but the main bit is you're still breathing.
Mine had its first service, so now able to get all 70mph out of the poor little 125.

Thanks for all the replies and debates. I'm a computer engineer/office worker. I have had issues with my lower back in the past, but not for a long while now.
I will pop by a physio tomorrow to see if they are open and how soon they can see me. Getting any sort of referral from my GP is a joke. I understand how busy the NHS are and how much of a great job they do, but the physio I've had in the past was not really fit for purpose and I ended up finding my own physio to help repair turn knee ligaments.
I'll give the grip puppies a look, but I'm not aiming to keep this bike for that long.... Hopefully

Charity Abseil for London Air Ambulance
in General Chat
Posted
Hi guys n girls, firstly I'm not sure if this is permitted so remove if not and sorry.
In September I'm doing an abseil down the 17 floors of the Royal London Hospital for the London Air Ambulance.
I hope that none of us ever need the services they provide, but I for one am thankful they are there.
So if you can spare a cuppa or pint for a worthy cause it will be most welcome and if I ever get to meet you I'll buy you a beer or cuppa.
Clicky link
Thanks
