  1. sorry to hear that hope if there is any mud slinging going on it all settles soon and you pick yourself up and look forward and not back
  2. £200 you gave it away someone has had a result
  3. that is the size tubes you will need and dont forget you will need rim tape to protect the tubes from t he tips of the spokes and whoever fitted the tyres must of removed inner tubes and should go back to school to learn how to correctly fit tyres on to the rims
  4. first off you would need to check heights of modern engines compared to the gap in the frame where its meant to sit being a 2 stroke originally the engine would not of been as tall also need to be fairly good at making up new engine mounts possibly welding and electrics....................just for starters then try insuring it as a modified bike
  5. im so glad that in my days as a learner you could ride a 250 on L plates and then jump on anythig you wanted after a ten minute ride around the few roads near the test centre while the examainer stood around and watched you ...............................................when he could see you
  6. the hotels have a bar in them saves having to try and stagger back later in the evening
  7. it isnt a simple unbolt and bolt new one on anyway it involves removing the camshaft out of the cylinder head and such like before y ou can remove the the head so you need to be able to reset the timing and valve gaps as chances are they will need doing once rebuilt
  8. could also have problems insuring it if it has 150cm3 or 149cm3 on the barrel you would need to disclose it to insurance company for sure and suffer increased premium due to it being a modified bike ...............but even if it doesnt say it on the barrel you should still inform them to be legal but tha would be your own choice then
  9. if it is leaking round the banjo then the sealing washers are not sealing and need replacing also check the banjo itself is in good condition make sure it isnt fractured or have a lot of corrosion on it and that both the sides are in good condition
  10. if thats the case can you not sell the ybr and buy something a bit bigger ?
  11. and mean you are riding without a licence so not worth the hassle
  12. welcome to the forum pop into the newbie section and introduce yourself as we are a friendly bunch as for the speedo it might well b e easier to buy a new or good 2nd hand one instead of trying to repair/bodge it
  13. it will be bloody tight you might need a mate or someone to push hard on the rear brake and mind the adjustable spanner doesnt slip off as we all know how skinned knuckles hurt
  14. there must be one on the stadium complex i would of thought or other local major place is brent cross http://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/hotels/england/greater-london/london/london-wembley-park.html?ARRdd=25&ARRmm=03&ARRyyyy=2016&ROOMS=1&ADULT1=1&CHILD1=0&COT1=0&INTTYP1=DB" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
  15. the only reason the brake lever would not work is if it is broken i suggest you check the actuating arm in the master cylinder and make sure it isnt stuck in and it could also be air trapped in the brake line somewhere
  16. erm if you have fitted the new chain and running it on that knackered sprocket then you are killing the chain http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Elora-1x-24mm-1-2-Square-Drive-Hexagon-Socket-Professional-Tool-15313-/391017484127?hash=item5b0a754f5f:g:JjAAAOSwFNZWxXQ9" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
  17. easy way to check inlet rubber with engine running so you dont burn your hand is spray some wd40 towards it if the revs increase without the throttle being turned then at least part of the problem is the inlet rubber as rant pointed out
  18. and dont forget the expansion tank should not be full anyway it will have a marking of it for the maximum level the coolant should be within it
  19. or on the superdream and cx 500 to keep the choke on long enough for it to warm up but i guess it was a kind of auto choke as it slowly turned itself off by sliding back down
  20. sounds like the tickover needs adjusting slightly to bring the revs up a little on tickover
  21. well looking at the pictures the fact that t he throttle mechanism is at rest on the adjuster then if the butterfly is operating as you open the throttle then it is t he right way round if you tried to fit it so it was covering one of the holes then not only would the throttle be half open but you could not operate the arm to open correctly
  22. have you actually got a manual for the bike..........................if so have a look at the pics of the carb and see if it looks the same................if you havent got one then how do you know the float is shutting off at the correct height as that is fairly critical
  23. i have no idea it would depend on jet sizes carb size in general where it goes onto inlet rubber and air box rubber and a carb rebuild kit is not that expensive
  24. you need to check float shut off height or maybe a carb repair kit which includes a new needle valve that shuts off the fuel
