    wider tyres..

are wider tyres better? like my sv has 160 rear tyre and it feels fine in the corners etc but my old 125 had 140 rear and that felt fine.. whats advantages are there with wider tyres like when sports bikes have 180/200 rear tyre? and can i put wider on my sv like a sv1000 rear wheel on my 650?
  2. ah right thanks everyone!
  3. I understood what happened but didnt get why it got rid of the brakes, so is it just the force from the shaking that moves the pistons back?
  4. Guess its not recommended then..
  5. People who saw stoners off and the shake of the front wheel when it came over the hill.. The comnentators talk about him losing his brakes because of it.. Someone explain to me how what and why it happens... I have no idea
  6. as far as i know i should be free, ill let you know closer and ill meet at ashbourne if i do
  7. ive got one but its so uncomfortable it just sort of takes my minds of the road and onto it and how annoying it is! but i really need to get one thats good cause i suppose it saves the second most important thing after your head....
  8. Ill be at tibby services on the m1
  9. We're restricted cause we're both a bit nutty, but im less nutty so my bike is better
  10. What you pay is what you get too.. Boothys £3 restrictor is a lot lot lot worse than my £240 fitted restrictor...
  11. Get a yamaha wr125x, there cooler than a yzfr125, easier to ride and then do your test on one and you p*** it! Cause there tall with loads of steering lock makes life easy! And geared faster acceration than the yzf But if your 21.. Do a DAS and get a 600
  12. cause yours is bland boothy
  13. just thinking its been a while since we had a fairly large meet up round here.. thinking we should do another rutland water or ladybower meet up before the weather turns snowy within the next month or so so would anyone be up for it? and anyone got any ideas where or when as im not too fussed just thought id get the ball rolling really
  14. There always open...
  15. its and old helmet now as there is a new model but ive had mine 2 years and it was my first helmet so i cant really compare it to any others but its a great helmet, quite light, looks good, love the pinlock visor on it bad points is it does make a lot of wind noise at like 50mph+ but ear plugs get rid of that and the vent bits on it seem to do nothing at all but a great helmet when i come to getting another one i think i will look at shoei helmets
  16. ive got a pair of RSR 1 piece leathers and i paid £140 of a bloke who was clearing all his clothing out his shop so no idea what they retail at. but they have been great so far really comfortable the only thing that lets them down is they have breathable which is great in summer but get caught on a shower and its not so good but i think they wear a bargain for the price as they cost less than my boots
  17. I even managed 41 mpg!!! Frickin awesome for the SV!
  18. i owned this bike for 10 months while i was on L-Plates! Yamaha wr125x may '10 to march '11 £3899 brand spanker! good points! the type of bike! the super moto style made it or me the perfect bike, doing my test on it was great! so easy manoeuvring it! great handling! so much confidence in the corners! plenty of low down go for 125! bad points! the price! very expensive even though its a really good bike! top speed! it could apparently do 70mph! in its dreams 65mph on the flat was a reasonable speed sometimes it would do 70 and downhill i had just over 80 yes i would defiantly get another! just if it had my sv's engine it would be near on perfect! other comments; cant see why you would choose a yzfr125 over one of these! so much better! and look a lot bigger than a 125 should! great bike over all! no problems with mine and it was rode through winter and no real rusting, the old bolt but nothing bad! would really recommend this bike! its fantastic!
  19. Suzuki SV650sK3 'restricited' i brought it at the end of March 2011 cost a bit under £3k ill start with all the bad points.. firsty, i was told that i wont be able to go on rides longer than 20 mins before my arms start killing, this is not true, when i first got the bike my arms would ache a bit after a long run but now there fine and its well over 120 miles before your arms ache but its nothing bad and by that time your neck has fallen off and is 20 miles down the road and your ass if part of the bikes structure another bad thing the suspension is really really soft!!! 'apparently'... i have no idea if this is true as ive gone from a supermoto style 125 to this and it seems fine to me in fact when you feel like youve gone past the point of no more grip and cornering ability it just seems to be quite solid and carries on round the corner no problem now the good points as they werent really bad! torque! for a restricted bike, when people say to you 'are your sure its restricted' its a good feeling and seems to pull away from the lights very well, ie; no car has beat me off the line yet! (V12 merc-benz couldnt beat me off the line) noise! with a standard can on, it to be fair did sound crap! but since ive had a bigger exhaust on its sounds awesome! doesnt sound loud enough to me, but people say 'yes we heard you coming' soo its not so bad yes i would defiantly get another! and recommend to anyone looking for a first big bike! other comments; suzukis apparently common for rusting.. not seen much of it on mine yet however it doesnt look like its done a winter yet so im a bit cautious about this winter and using it but we should be ok i will keep it until my restriction is up for sure as it is a great bike! and i love the low down grunt! but when i come to change bike i will look at more a naked style just for the seating position as i was on a 125 supermoto which was perfect! but i just needed this engine and looks but cant have everything! defiantly the best bike ive owned and really theres nothing that let it down in my opinion!

    TANK PAD!!

im planing to change the tank pad on mine, is it just a case of heat the old one up and peel off and then polish the tank? as i want to keep the old one in good condition so i can get it scanned in and get a new pad made up by a mate
