  1. It should have carbs and a choke, the change over was late 2007 early 2008 to the injected 600 engine. As said previously the choke shouldn't be needed that much this time of year, from what you've said I'd say it was fine just might need a little tinkering towards winter but I doubt it. C

  6. I use Nav free with a waterproof phone holder that i got from amazon for my Iphone, run the lead from my head phones to an extension lead that goes in at the bottom of my jacket. Works great for a simple sat nav, i've not played with it to see if i can put way points in and stuff but it always gets me to where i want to go, it works well on my mates HTC Which runs android. just need to get a charger for my phone as the battery wont last all day plus having to take my gloves off everytime to check somthing can get a bit frustrating if you have to do it alot. Cheers Chris
  7. I've got a box flip front, think its great and it's got a flip down sun visor, not sure if its quiet compared to anything else but it does me and means I can fiddle with my ears when I needy head phones in.

  13. Yep, everything is out. It's and Enfield marine engine, doing it for the father in law. I know it's not a bike but as I said earlier hopefully the topic will be helpful when others come to do there engines.

  16. Cheers guys, at my old work we had a large parts dishwasher but that's 200 miles from where I currently am and the suggestion of buying a dishwasher for doing engine bits was followed by the request for one in the house. Will search around a big more and see if I can find someone that'll do it, especially if it needs bead blasting. Thanks again! C
  17. Hi All, looking for advice here, its not for a bike engine but the methods could be used during a bike restoration. I've got an old aluminium engine block which is completley stripped and I've pressure washed it, this has done a good job so far but its no where near a point ready for painting. so my request for help is, any hints and tips on the cleaning and the priming of an ali block or anyone know of someone around manchester that i could throw money at the situation and get it done? cheers for any advice and i hope you don't mind me posting this question in here. Chris

Bikes fixed and im back out on it when the weather allows, but im nervous when i go out on the fun twisty roads thinking im going to stack it again. solution to this i reckon is some further training, got a dvd on police riding techhniques which helps but i think some more tution will help more. Any one able to recommend a course in the manchester area? cheers Chris
