  1. i'd open a dispute mate! item not as described, and the guy has ripped you off. paypal buyer protection will cover you, so get on to ebay and they should sort you out!
  2. to the OP, test ride both and pick your favourite. let us know what you go for!
  3. nice post! i agree.
  4. nice post
  5. i've got a black visor, and since i got it i've not used my clear visor. you can still see fine on cloudy days, it's fine for when it's raining, and it is brilliant for when the sun is out! just don't use it at night (obviously!) same as others, use it every day on my commute to work and had no problem with the police! i do keep my clear visor in my bag though.
  6. if you like them then go for it, but they won't stay looking that for very long.
  7. yeah of course, they will stay looking like new for the whole time you wear them seriously though, of course they won't, unless you are really anal about cleaning them every week.
  8. well if you stick to it after every ride, then i'll be impressed! give us an update in a few months time...
  9. Stuno1 - i reckon once your honeymoon period is over with your leathers, you won't even clean them again i reckon your white patches, will soon be grey patches after about 6 months of riding the only thing i remember reading somewhere (in a bike mag), was at the end of every season (i'm guessing once a year), clean down your leathers with some baby wipes, and then apply a leather feed. Interesting thread though, as i've just got a new leather jacket.
  10. out of interest, has anyone done their mod2 in a one piece suit? knee sliders, race hump etc etc
  11. not sure if this helps much, but i had to send back a pair of Camo draggin jeans, as the 32" waist was more like a 34/36! I'm not sure if this will be the same for their denim jeans though.
  12. update - bought the RST Razor jacket from HG at the weekend. Tried on a lot of jackets and this one was the best fit by far. Haven't bought the trousers yet as they didn't have my size, but will do so in the next few weeks. too early to give a review as i've only worn it once so far!
  13. from memory, i think it was the Alpinestars SP-1 two piece suit. I think it scored 7/20 for seam burst strength, which is where it was let down. The RST suit however, scored 20/20 for seam burst strength, joint first with the HG suit. but, as with all reviews, how this reflects the performance of the gear in real world scenario's is anyone's guess.
  14. Cheers for the replies,i think I'm going to go with rst! will keep you posted.
  15. Thanks for all the replies by the way!
  16. Thanks for all the replies by the way!
  17. Found a copy of a Ride magazine from last year and they reviewed 20 suits (2 piece), the hg suit came out on top, and the rst razor came in 5th! I think I'm going with one of those two brands, will keep you posted. (just out of interest, an alpinestars suit scored very low, especially on seam burst strength. It cost almost twice the price of the rst razor suit!)
  18. thanks, i'm thinking that the RST jacket is the one to go for. Such good value for money in my opinion compared to some of the other brands, plus it was a really good fit.
  19. can anyone recommend a leather two piece suit? i've been looking at reviews online, and tried on a few in Hein Gericke at the weekend, but it would be good to hear some opinions from people on here of their own leathers. i like the look of the arlen ness suits, and the RST razor jacket i tried on was nice (although i didn't try on the trousers). alpinestars look great as well, but does the (much) higer price tag mean better quality? or are you paying more for the brand? As this is my first set of leathers (always worn textiles), any opinions would be welcome! got a good budget to play around with, but would like to spend under £500. Don't need a back protector built in to the suit, as i wear a separate back protector. thanks
  20. thanks for that! i just can't get my head round the price, when you compare it to other brands.
  21. Hi, Tried on quite a few leather jackets today, and was impressed with the RST Razor jacket (especially the price). Has anyone else got this jacket? If so, have you been happy with it? The price, £189.99 seems really good to me considering some of the other jackets i tried on today were almost twice that price. cheers
  22. Never really thought about that as an accessory so much as an essential peice of riding equipment lol Your bike will still start in the morning without a buff, so in my opinion it's an accessory not an essential piece of riding equipment
  23. Agreed. Check out some army rucksacks as well, good value for money in my opinion, and come with a lot of features. I use one i got for 20 quid, has a separate waterproof cover, waist strap, padded straps, lots of pockets, and very sturdy.
  24. i find having some ROK straps really useful for strapping a bag to your bike. Catcrap is great! and it lasts a very long time. a pair of inner gloves for the winter. a buff (or equivalent). rear paddock stand Wurth dry chain lube microfibre cloths (for cleaning the bike, and keeps your visor bug free)
