  1. My dyslexic arse brain - is never sure .. it took me ages to master in the car...I tend to look to the lane (if i'm crossing one - and glance to the other shoulder as I go) . I'm sure at one point i was told to check for cyclists - but now i know that's only if I sit there a while. Unless it is a mini roundabout - not sure where i should be looking either
  2. If you click on their profile circle it should give you the power to message them.. I just messaged you
  3. I do too many lifesavers at roundabouts cos i'm never sure - but i think at right turn you have to look over your right.. so your Left life saver would not have been the right one. HTH PS tests suck..

    Hornet 750

I had a little sit on one today, but have not yet got my licence.. but it is motivating!! Has anyone got one.. or tried one?
  5. If you are 19 now and have a current CBT you could just do the A2 test. You'd need to get your theory test ((ETA somehow missed the post above! opps!) Or is your CBT about to run out?
  6. I love motorbikes ... so could see no benefits for a scooter lol - I just feel they are potentially more dangerous (but maybe that is my experience of the local delivery guys =- who drive like nutters!) (I don't envy them - time limited at high traffic times)
  7. A friend at work has a 21 year old daughter who is thinking of getting a scooter or possibly a 125. Any thoughts as to which would be better and why.
  8. There is a list of bikes you can use for the test (I checked to see if OH's bike was on there and its not!) https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/list-of-motorcycles-that-can-be-used-for-riding-tests
  9. You need to go to a bike shop and sit on a couple (You don't have to buy but you can 'feel them' ... this site is brill too.. http://cycle-ergo.com/ I'm 5ft 8 and have a CBF 125 - and its a great little bike - sometimes it is tricky to find neutral - but its a good 'height' for me. I tried a Yamaha 125 and it felt 'squished' (but i'm not sure if it had been lowered)
  10. You need to pass a motorbike theory test - there is a 4 in 1 app that costs a £5.. if you pass the hazard perception and questions on it and fail your theory test it gives you your money back (the £23 for the theory test). I used this app and passed first time, but I did have to pass the hazard part first then the questions (when I tried to do it the other way around it kept failing me on my hazard perception part.) Then you can book your DAS course.
  11. I have passed my motorbike theory test and have a 125. I was wondering if i passed my A1 - licence (on my bike) whether I would need to do the theory tests again to do a DAS course.. or if once you had a motorbike 'moving up' was easier. thanks
  12. I think you have to have at over 2 years to protect your NCD - as it was not an option for me this year (and I have 2 years no claims)
  13. I have been looking into retraining for Mod 1 - and wondered what a reasonable rate for 2 hours of training and a mod 1 session. (I know the test is £15.50 ) . But how much would the bike hire (a 650) and training reasonably cost? Thanks
  14. In that case... the 'spread-eagle' has a 'gold' eagle outside - and as that is not real - does that make it mythical?
  15. Does this count as a 'cat' pub - It is owned by the 'red cat'?

    Very Sad

I did not know this. I'm guessing with a bit of know how - doctoring them is relatively easy?! It scares me when In a car - they cut up the inside (ignoring you are turning left) .. dressed head to toe in black - I've nearly swiped two people that way - they had no PPE on - they were so dangerous. I suspect they were oblivious. I dress for the slide - and would not feel safe doing 30/40 with no helmet - which most of the local 'e-bikes' do -

    Very Sad

It is a really sad case. I was chatting with a friend today - about the upsurge of 'motorised bikes' - the ones that have motors and peddles - so don't pay tax, you don't have to have training to use - but go super fast.. there were about 8 around my local town center delivering food, they had no road awareness, and it was scary. The law should change - I think if you take a bike, e-scooter or e bike on the road you should have 'road awareness certificate' as a minimum.. if the vehicle has a motor you should have to pay to use it too.. and have insurance.
  18. ooo where are you? I'm happy to come and meet you -
  19. You just need a bit more practice - you will get there I think if the others were on autos it gives you a harder stick to beat yourself with - gears are trickier - at the start - until you automate some of it Chin up
  20. I am improving with them - will keep going for full lock turns - i think - when i get a really tight turn the foot does come down - but today only 1x out of about 8 attempts - so there is real improvement - the weather is not helping me tho
  21. So as the title says - I failed mod 1 (foot down on the U turn).. I have a 125 - and have been practicing and can do it easily in 3 car parking places - but am a bit anxious when i get on the 650 My foot will go down again I've been debating what to do next - just put in for mod 1 and hope for the best - accept i might fail a few times and keep going - or . practice more on my 125 .. Any tips- or pushing in the right direction appreciated
  22. I you turn L - and go L again -(red arrow) how would they know you had cancelled your indicator? I think I would indicate L - to do the blue arrow and cancel as soon as I was obviously in the road - before the L turn To do the Red arrow I would indicate L - and continue until I had turned (Not saying this is right mind.. )
