    Hard clutch

I think they mean if after lubing it it is still tough - maybe a previous owner put heavier springs in. My OH tweaked the bike and sys it is far smoother running - but I've bot been well so not been out on the bike for a bit - sad times.. Just feel well enough nowt the weather is getting a bit shite!
  2. Have you rung bike sure - they might insure you for a day to get your CBT ... but you would need someone to get your bike to the center - for you to learn on (you'd be insured to drive under instruction). If you ring them and explain they will give you advice (as a heads up 1 day was about £50 for me and 2 months was near £100). I too would look around for other schools - ring and ask to sit on any lowered bikes they have - good luck

    Hard clutch

I haven't removed the clutch but it looks to run smoothly - I have been adding teflon lube to the clutch - and it is now running a fair amount smoother than it was. I may just have to get used to it (my old bike is a 125 and that has less 'pull' so to speak.

    Hard clutch

Hi I'm after advice really - I have a suzuki sfv 650 gladius 2010. She has a very hard clutch - i'm looking into what I can do. I've oiled the clutch cable and adjusted it - but it still seems super strong. I've heard I can 'grease the worm drive.. but will need to look into this. I'm not sure if removing 'springs' is a 'novice' job or if I'd need to take it to a garage (or even if this is a good idea). I've also wondered about after market levers - would these help?
  5. You can get insurance that covers you to ride a bike you can't ride through - bikesure.. so you have to agree not to go on a public road - unless under instruction. They will insure you for a max of 60 days (for me it was £50 for 1 day and £98 for a month, so worth asking how much it i for longer in case you need to resit.). For a Mod1 or Mod 2 test - your 'trainer' is the examiner. IYSWIM. But you would either need a friend to ride the bike to the test center -or trailer it there. You will need to do your Mod 1 - on the same 'level' of bike as a Mod 2. (so you can't do mod 1 on a 125 and a mod 2 on a 650 for example).
  6. Back to report the blip has really helped - ty
  7. I don't know - but I'm interested to know about the insurance. Does your insurance change? (I the bike insured as restricted or is that not how it works?) s a sidenote - is the bike quite upright?(It is on my list to try!
  8. I went to J and S a while ago - the only one that fitted me well was the knox too. I do wonder if it has been designed to fit people - as you say stretch in the right places! I am very happy with mine (I've got the mesh one) .. it is soooo cool -
  9. Looking for some advice - sometimes when I go down to first - my gears sort of 'judder' / make clicky noises? It doesn't happen between any other gear changes - but I was pondering if it was linked to the clutch not releasing the gears - or what might cause it Sometimes I also fail to find N - or it tells me I'm in N but i'm not ! Any tips?
  10. Do you mean something like this? https://ashopsz.top/ProductDetail.aspx?iid=265102971&pr=67.88
  11. I've always wondered if you could get a camper van where the bike fits in it - so you drive somewhere - then can go out on the bike once you are there. That would give you the perk of a 'warmer tent' with 'transport.
  12. Helmet city is a good place to go too
  13. Ride for the slide - make sure your kit is protective .. road rash.. broken legs are not nice! Take it slow.. and don't kick yourself if you find it tough (I'm still working on that one)
  14. My dyslexic arse brain - is never sure .. it took me ages to master in the car...I tend to look to the lane (if i'm crossing one - and glance to the other shoulder as I go) . I'm sure at one point i was told to check for cyclists - but now i know that's only if I sit there a while. Unless it is a mini roundabout - not sure where i should be looking either
  15. If you click on their profile circle it should give you the power to message them.. I just messaged you
  16. I do too many lifesavers at roundabouts cos i'm never sure - but i think at right turn you have to look over your right.. so your Left life saver would not have been the right one. HTH PS tests suck..

    Hornet 750

I had a little sit on one today, but have not yet got my licence.. but it is motivating!! Has anyone got one.. or tried one?
  18. If you are 19 now and have a current CBT you could just do the A2 test. You'd need to get your theory test ((ETA somehow missed the post above! opps!) Or is your CBT about to run out?
  19. I love motorbikes ... so could see no benefits for a scooter lol - I just feel they are potentially more dangerous (but maybe that is my experience of the local delivery guys =- who drive like nutters!) (I don't envy them - time limited at high traffic times)
  20. A friend at work has a 21 year old daughter who is thinking of getting a scooter or possibly a 125. Any thoughts as to which would be better and why.
  21. There is a list of bikes you can use for the test (I checked to see if OH's bike was on there and its not!) https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/list-of-motorcycles-that-can-be-used-for-riding-tests
  22. You need to go to a bike shop and sit on a couple (You don't have to buy but you can 'feel them' ... this site is brill too.. http://cycle-ergo.com/ I'm 5ft 8 and have a CBF 125 - and its a great little bike - sometimes it is tricky to find neutral - but its a good 'height' for me. I tried a Yamaha 125 and it felt 'squished' (but i'm not sure if it had been lowered)
  23. You need to pass a motorbike theory test - there is a 4 in 1 app that costs a £5.. if you pass the hazard perception and questions on it and fail your theory test it gives you your money back (the £23 for the theory test). I used this app and passed first time, but I did have to pass the hazard part first then the questions (when I tried to do it the other way around it kept failing me on my hazard perception part.) Then you can book your DAS course.
