  1. Keep your wigs on guys jeez. I was joking - I thought the emojis would explain that

Genuinely curious to get others bikers answers as to why. I’ll assume the ones who have moaned about me asking are the same ones that don’t nod!

I personally think it’s rude when they stare at you, you nod to them and nothing. If you don’t want to interact that’s fine but there’s no need to stare!

I’ve genuinely noticed a difference and if you ask me it’s a my dicks bigger than yours complex.

The rudeness on here has actually proved my point! Such a shame as most of you are a nice bunch. If my post is boring or you’ve read it all before or you don’t like what I have to say then don’t comment, don’t be rude!

  2. Hi guys, I hope you’re all keeping well?! I know you’re probably all sick of me by now but I’m curious...

Put simply when I ride the 650 I get nods from loads of people however if I’m on the 125 I don’t seem to get any... it’s making me feel inferior

Am I being a snowflake or is this actually a thing? :D

  3. Are you sure it was engine related.

Could be a binding brake. If it does it again check the discs/drums for excess heat - be careful not to burn yourself.

Other quick checks worth doing - make sure nothong is blocking the air intake. I left a rag under the seat once and i got sucked into the air intake. Open the filler cap - if you hear a gush of air - you may have a blocked tank vent.

Just assumed it was engine related given previous issues. Brakes seem fine but will check for excess heat after a ride tomorrow.

No obvious signs of air in take blockage but am considering changing it anyway to be safe. Also no air in fuel tank :?

  4. It’s really hard to pin point it while looking online. Plus there doesn’t seem to be a huge amount of information on the Gladius. Spoke to my guy at the garage and he’s said as it’s intermittent it’s hard to run tests on it as if it doesn’t have the symptoms he won’t be able to find the problem. Going out today so will see how she runs.

  5. Its the old riddle..

Fuel - Water/ Dirt in tank/ filter/ fuel hose / fuel pump - I always start with fuel additives and a hot run.

Air - Often loss of power over time but could be airflow momentarily stopped.

Spark - Electrical always nightmare. Sounds like across all cylinders so unlikely to be plugs or leads (but could be losing power on 2 cylinders ?Coil again normally brake down over time so problem might get worse), timing pickups, throttle control?

Did it happen after changing gear both occasions? Did the power come back when you eased the throttle? or did it leap to full throttle with it wide open?

    Any fault lights, even momentarily?

Hi thanks for your reply. You’ve made me curious as today after a short run something new and odd happened. Normally the bike pulls at 7mph in gear 1 with no throttle and no clutch but today it pulled at 12mph. Could this tie in with the throttle control you mentioned?

  6. Was it as if the ignition was turned off then back on?

    Suzuki electrics aren't the best!

I suppose you could compare it to that but everything stayed on, lights, dash etc. It’s fuel injected but I guess it would be similar to if your carbs needed a clean.

Literally could open it full throttle and nothing happened. Came down to about 30mph then picked back up again. It’s really odd.

  7. Hi guys, it’s me again.

The other day me and my partner were out on the Gladius. He was in 4th gear. Accelerated and changed into 5th. We lost almost all power as if it had gone into limp home mode. Then the power seemed to come back on its own. Without switching the bike off and on. It’s also happened once before when I was riding it. Literally yanking the throttle back and nothing happens. I’ve spoken to my guy at the garage and he will take a look but he seemed stumped to so I thought I would ask on here to see if you guys had anything similar and found out what the problem was. As I said this has happened twice but that been over the space of a year.

    Thanks in advance

  8. Hi guys, I’m looking for a rear hugger to fit a Suzuki Gladius SFV650 2009. I’m hoping to be able to get one that just screws onto the swing arm. I wondered if anyone knew what would fit it. Thanks in advance.

  9. Hi how long ago was it last serviced and how many miles have you done since :?:

I only got it at the beginning of the month and the guy didn’t speak much English. But the oil is still good. It’s starts on the button every time with no worries so don’t think it’s carb related. Point is though I don’t actually know when a service was last done. It wouldn’t have done many miles though as only 11,000 miles on the clock. Last MOT was a year ago and it’s only done a few miles since then

  10. Hi guys, it’s me again!

So I live on private land so have been lucky enough that I have a small road that I can ride around, I started off on a 650cc so riding a 125cc was alien to me!

Anyway long story short both me and partner feel like it doesn’t have the pull that it should (Honda CBR125R 06) my partner had the same bike and same model and could easily pop a wheelie in gear 1. With my bike there would be no danger of that.

It’s not that I want to pop wheelies because I don’t, I just want the bike to run as it should.

It maybe due a service which I plan to do next month but I wondered if you guys knew if that could be the problem or it could be something else. The previous owner removed the baffle from the sports exhaust and I wondered if that could be a contributing problem.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice :)

  11. Are you sure that the mirror you have tried is the same size thread, it could be that it is smaller than the original ones so would feel loose in the hole and not tighten up. :D

If anything they’d be bigger but it’s an original Honda mirror for that bike so I’m not sure.

  12. If you check out Bar End Mirrors on eBay you will see that the majority of them are described as universal which usually means that they come with a choice of inserts . So there you go , choose whatever style you like . Personally I think they look crap so repairing your thread with a Thread Chaser or a Helicoil Kit might be worth considering . By the way , it wouldn't happen to be a left hand thread would it ?

Thank you. I don’t think they’re that clear on there are they. Each to their own I just think they look tidier.

Forgive me if I sound silly but it’s both the right hand and left hand. To be honest I’m not even sure it’s the thread. Previous owner removed the original mirrors and I assume rode without any. Replaced them with some crappy alloy cover screws and now they won’t unscrew. Its almost like they’ve melted in there or something. I have a spare mirror. It’s a right hand one and when I did manage to get the cover screws out the mirror just won’t go but I won’t lie the thread looks okay so I’m lost.

i had bar end mirrors fitted to mine, think they look much better than standard ones, and i can see much more , no elbows in the way :thumb:

Yeah I’m sold on them to be fair makes the bike look less buggy

  13. Keep in mind that it is illegal to ride a bike without mirrors.

Was under the impression mirrors are not legally required on a bike? Happy to be told I'm wrong as usual of course 😁

No they’re not but I didn’t like to say anything
