  1. Can someone tell me if the cost of the theory test is set or does it vary?... reason is i seem to have been quoted way over the odds to take it at £45.. It says £31 everywhere i look
  2. as i am 45 i am past borrowing my mams tupperware dishes and i am already confuddled at the thought of 4 carbs in bits an dhaving to mark how many turns etc per screw and jet
  3. might give the carb cleaner a shot first as that doesnt involve strippin the buggers down...also i am not sure if you can remove the carbs singley or if its a job lot.. thanks lads appreciate it

When i get the GT550 running it will never tick over.. starts fiine and revs fine but for whatever reason just wont idle.. now i have read on here several times that when your bike has been standing for sometime crap can settle in the carbs etc... now it has 4 carbs so would cleaning them out be an easy job as i dont wanna take em off, strip em to clean em then fine out i cant balance em out when tryin to start it after reassembly.. what is involved in cleaning them?... is it jets out and blown through or float bowl off and make sure its devoid of gunge

  6. i cant tell to be honest as the noise off the one overrides the others and i cant get my hand around the pipes for the heat... i dont think they ar eall blowing to be honest as it only seems like the one but i cant be sure
  7. there were no old gaskets in 3 of the 4 cylinders mate... the one that was there dropped out straight away
  8. its a non standard Motad 4 into 1 system so its slightly different... howev4er i did use all the correct bits.. gaskets sleeves and finally clamps...
  9. Now i have just replaced the copper gaskets on my Gt 550 and its still blowing like a hurricane what do you guys usually do as the clamps etc are all tight.. do you use assembley paste or guim gum etc?

  11. aye when i was learning in the early 80s i went from my RS100 onto a mates 6 CYLINDER Honda Cbx 1000 and i a sure my arms were longer when i got off lol
  12. turns out the battery is under the floor... so having located it i put the battery charger on, left it a while and then put the key in only to find the immobiliser is preventing it from starting and there is no master key with it...replacements cost a fortune
  13. the seat lock is on the side of the scoot.. this lock pulls out and it like a long chain type thing... some form of security i spose... the batt cud be under the storage i spose as not looked underneath... the bloody seat lock doesnt work either lol

  15. well i will have a closer look in the morning when its light but i couldnt see anything... also couldnt find the fuel cap either

  17. Picked up on o these to zip about on while doing me test etc... now the battery is stone dead and i have no idea where it is on these whizzy scootery things... also does anyone know how the lock thingy works in the back of the bike

  19. ok now last time i rode bikes you simply got group D on ur license and away you went...now there seems to be so many options my brain is like a lump of pease puddin tryin to make sense of it... whats this Direct access and i thought a learner could only ride up to a 125 yet i have seen people talk about riding 600s str8 away... oh mi edd... can someone put it in simple terms for me as i cant get my head around it all...
