  1. Cant remember what pads i am using to be honest... The pivot point is greased up and not overtightened.. MC has been highlighted and the rubber cover is torn so crap might have gotten in i suppose
  2. Mine is an older MKI B6 so doubt it will be related in truth
  3. Ok basically the front brake on the bandit is shite.. The lever has a few mill of travel then goes hard and abit notchy when heaved on, thebrakes are wooden as well and its getting steadily worse... Calipers have been rebuilt with new seals etc and new fuild a few months ago.. Any ideas folks??
  4. Thanks for replies lads... Ok its just been serviced with new plugs, filters and oil, the coils could be a possibilty although they wouldnt cool down much in a couple of minutes i wouldnt have thought but wont rule them out.. Plugs are a good colour according to the manual and theres no blue smoke.. Does use abit of oil but not alot.. Fuel starvation is possible as well and the easiest to sort ( i think).. What would you check lads?
  5. After any tips or advice on the this issue. Basically the bike starts everytime when cold or warm but when up to temp its a cow to start, it tries but wont catch then for no obvious reason it will just burst into life.. Never had a bike do this before so qbit stumped
  6. I managed to get a very good shock off a B12 with hyperpro spring and it slotted straight in... i may need to adjust the preload abit though but i will get it checked first.. i knwo bugger all about setting shocks up
  7. cheers lads... i know the one on my bandit was 32mm and i didnt have a socket to fit the bugger,,, 24mm i have so hopefully i should be able to get the bugger off
  8. Hi folks... just after a bit of info on the Hornet 600... got to change the chain and sprockets on one at the weekend and need to know the size of the front sprocket retaining nut or bolt... cheers
  9. the switchgear does have a locating peg on the bandit but if its like mine it has been removed so the postion can be altered... i have the standard bars on mine and find i dont have to reach for them too much.. just slacken the bar clamps a smidge and rotate the bars to suit you then retighten..
  10. a gixxer shock will fit but its depending on the year... some are too long and wont fit... other years will fit with minor mods to battery box..

  14. Lads my rear shock is knackered and needs replacing... It has gone very soft so have any of you Bandit owners past/present replaced the rear shock from another bike?.... If so what other ones can i use and was it a straight swap or did it need mods?
  15. er i must own up to being a clot... it was put together properly BUT i failed to notice i had left one of the old clutch plates in so it had 9 cork plates instead of 8 stripped it back out and after erm erm noticing my mistake i sored that out and then had no drive however i knew what that was and adjusted the pushrod again... sorted and jobs a goodun
  16. Bit stuck here lads and cant for th elife of me work out what the problem is.. Basically i have just changed the clutch on the Bandit and it wont disengage..its constantly driving and when pulling the clutch lever it is very hard to pull... have you any ideas lads?

  18. alan its deffo the join where the link pipe goes into the collector mate... not had a problem with mikalor clamps i must admit... the clamp goes over the collector neck where the link pipe goes into it... its a big bugger thats for sure
  19. the gaskets look totally different to me... one looks like a solid graphite ring and the other a mesh type... when the clamp gets tightened down will the graphite one shatter?..

    Hi all

    sounds like the clamps have been overtightened... i broke the first one i ever got by overtightening it as i am abit hamfisted at time have had another few since then and you feel when they are as tight as they are meant to be... used em on 2 stroke pipes as well as 4 bangers with great results

    those clamps are alot liek Mikalor clamps and can be had off evilbay for a couple of quid.. they come in lots of different sizes and have used them myself
  24. you could opt for fishing waterproofs... you know those luminous yellow or orange ones as i used to use those and even getting blasted with a hosepipe they never leaked...
  25. That's certainly something to work torwards, tho your list is looking quite impressive so far...or not so impressive...I'm not sure hahaha! You certainly get points for experience!!! Btw, what's a stoppie?? a stoppie is when you grab a handful of front brake and the arse end comes up in the air... the bikes arse end i mean not yours
