  1. Not keen on Whitby? Is that 'cos it does better fishnchips than that lot in 'ull?
  2. Although I'm biased, Whitby is a fantastic place to go visit! Loads of pubs (good beer), the best fish and ships on the planet and ooooh just everything!
  3. I was hoping I'd give you lot some planning time!
  4. As an exiled Whitby-ite, I thought it might be a good craic to see how many biker bodies we could get to do the following one long weekend when these long 'orrible night have buggered orf: Ride north and meet in Pickering Take a mass ride up the A169 Moors Road from Pickering, past the Hole of Horcum, the Saltersgate Inn and RAF Fylingdales, finishing with a mass descent of Blue Bank and a ride into Whitby. Spend at least a night there, drink inordinate amounts of alcohol and have a generally good time. Anyone fancying the idea? Oh and if you don't know the Moors Road - it is fan-bloody-tastic to ride! http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi? ... 9&out.y=10
  5. Aaargh! Someone make a decision then! We're running out of time to organise anything if we pontificate for much longer
  6. Sorely tempted to do the train thing again now!
  7. It's probably worth thinking about parking out at Cromford Meadows and walking in if you're up to it (thinking about Trouble and her wounds) it's not a massive trek, but worth it, so I'm told! Might even be worth (and get this for planning) taking the car to Belper or Ambergate, parking there and getting the Choo-choo to Matlock Bath. Times as Follows: Dep Belper: 18:16 19:49 Dep Ambergate: 18:23 19:56 Arr Matlock Bath: 18:43 20:16 Dep Matlock Bath: 21:38 22:31 Arr Ambergate: 21:56 22:49 Arr Belper: 22:03 22:56 Cheap Day return ticket: £3.10 from Belper, £2.60 from Ambergate There ya go! Bargain!
  8. Just a quick one for everyone going to this one! Spoken to one of the girls at work who says that she went with her hubby to the same event a couple of weeks ago and it was RAMMED out. So, word on the street is...get there as early as you can!!
  9. I'll be difficult to miss in all honesty - just look for a wee blue and silver Harley Sportster in the car park lol Binning train idea now!
  10. Looking good everyone! So, next question is. . . . Who's going to be there at what time? Sudden inspiration, might get the train up there. Reason? Beerage enablement! Trots off to check the times back to Derby lol
  11. No idea, but my God would it ever be fun trying! Just as long as they're: a) Legal b) Breathing c) Consenting
  12. "Could" be in trouble? I think you're best to take yourself outside and give yourself a good kicking. It'll save her doing it for you!
  13. I was jesting! Honest Guv! It'll be a chilly ride home for me and that's only 20 miles!
  14. 8th for me!
  15. Dress up? I will be dressed up - full leathers, thermals and warm undercrackers! Besides, I hardly think wazzing along the A6 in full Dracula costume on my bike would work too well!
  16. Mid afternoon sounds like a reasonable plan, especially where parking is concerned. Those that can make it early enough, let's say 3.30pm - meet at the usual spot (outside the Mining Museum - opposite the Fishpond pub) For those that can't make that time, I reckon we should rendezvous (sounding all military now) at the same place at the following times to pick up any latecomers: 4.30pm 6.00pm That way if there are any stragglers/late arrivals, at least we all know where to be to catch up with everyone else! As things get kicked off around 7pm, the last meet at 6 will give everyone time to get to where's best by the time it starts. Or Any suggestions/alternatives welcome!!!
  17. Hey hey megandmog - would you be able to e-mail the plans this-a-way please, pm me for e-mail addy!
  18. No idea when it is but I think the pub is called "The Holly Bush", just down the road from the hostelry my Uncle ran for some time. I have been told that it gets inundated by local muppets in their chavchariots though!
  19. OK, here's the programme of events for the 27th: It's also the last night of the illuminations, by the way Sat 27th: Illuminations and Venetian Nights Juggling and Fire Shows - 7pm Parade of Illuminated Boats - 8pm Fireworks- 9pm Full details can be found on http://www.derbyshire-peakdistrict.co.u ... ns2004.htm I was thinking perhaps a 5.30pm meet up - mass visit to the chippy for a Pea Mix or something similar, then troll around a bit until the events start?
  20. Yes, that's what it is about him... I knew there was just something about his whole aura, the way he's put up on this pedestal, thats it, he's being shaped into this schumacher clone! So glad I can't stand F1, lol, they have 2 too many wheels for one thing! Here here!
  21. Just a thought for those that haven't been yet (and for those that would like to go again!) Perhaps there's some mileage in arranging a meet in MB a week on Saturday to see the fireworks? Not sure about timings yet, but them that can, stick your name down pronto! And how do you do the "registering thing" anyway? Mutter mutter
