  1. Apologies for missing peeps last week, phone battery died and had to disappear to pick up Mrs S from work for 9pm. I would say I was going this evening but . . . . . I watched the weather forecast today - lawks a lawdy it gonna precipitate tonight!
  2. Anyone intending to travel in from the west side of the country, that being north-west, south west, west or Welsh Wales, I will be available at a very easy spot to find to lead in as many as turn up at around 3pm on the Friday. Obviously Stevie (Korben) is getting involved in co-ordinating this, but all I can say is that it's a nice, pleasant run into Shipley Gate from Markeaton MacDognuts Carpark (at the A38/A52 junction just north of Derby City Centre). The McDognuts place is to the West of the island - the white-looking place right next to the island is a petrol station, and Maccy D's is the next bit along to the left (with a Carpark) click for bird's eye view and you'll get a better view of it! Zoom out to see the main roads in and around the area. http://www.bing.com/maps/default.aspx?v ... &encType=1 Probable route from Markeaton: A38 Queensway (heading Northwest) to the A38 Abbey Hill, Off at Kilburn (near the Denby Pottery, for all you fans of earthenware plates and suchlike) through Horsley Woodhouse to Smalley (where Leon and Ron Haslam live). Off through Heanor, and onto the main drag from there to Shipley Gate. Total mileage 15 point odd miles. For anyone intending to come this way and follow me in, the Camera Mafia isn't too prevalent in the area but there are some bits quite heavily covered by Mr. GATSO and friends! BEWARE! Seriously looking forward to it the nooo! Will repost this one again closer to the date peeps.
  3. It's certainly a nice cross-country run over from Telford to this neck of the woods, I've done it a few times on the old tractor (Harley) to go to the footy at Telford (watching the mighty Whitby Town beat them ) I'll repost the bit I put in about meeting up on the west side of Derby when i can find it!
  4. Just want to add my thanks to Pen and Akey for their hospitality yesterday! Family stuff prevented me from taking fullest advantage of it all but that roast garlic . . . MMMMMMMM! Good to see so many faces, old (not in terms of years, of course) and new. Looking forward to the rally immensely too. Hope the Black Pudding went down well this morning (with some of you at least!) Happy Days!
  5. I daren't kick a football in case my implants (no not my MOOBS, the ones in my knee!) go south and my leg flings off across the field! I think a more sedentary set of activities are my forte. Bar exercises - lean, raise right arm, quaff, repeat x lots
  6. Didn't make it after all - Mrs S had a steak dinner ready when i got home and I could barely walk after noshing all of those comestibles! Anyhoo, onwards and upwards!! Next Wednesday (the whatever the hell it is of June) I will be at MFN, at last, at long bloody last! Anyone attending . . .see you there. look in contacts for me mobile number!
  7. Registered this morning. It will be a cracking and (at the same time) poignant day all round. Starting from Drayton Manor Park after camping too.
  8. I look rough all day, never mind just the morning!
  9. Not to be funny, but I really wouldn't recommend Sidi's! At all. You can bend most of their boots in half.... I can bend any boot in half!
  10. I just got some Sidi Vertigo boots - the ones with the adjustable calf section - very comfortable indeed and am well pleased with 'em! Just breaking them in is a bit squeaky
  11. Now the pissy weather seems to be clearing I can get to MFN for a wee while tonight (before the Champs League final starts and Mrs S gets tea ready lol) Anyone there?
  12. It's about 10 miles from my house and well worth a visit anytime, especially on this day! I'll be there!
  13. Oh, I forgot. Along with the V5 for the new bike!!!!! Collect tomorrow
  14. Can't make tonight Stevie, Mrs S is on shift at the hospital until 9 and the kids are home alone otherwise. Definitely next Wednesday though, for sure!
  15. It won't be good because I won't have the bike yet Friday afternoon though, I will!
  16. Fingers crossed, next Wednesday might be my first outing on the new bike. Guess where I'll be heading (if it ain't honking it down again GRRRR)???? You betcha! MFN!
  17. Bring yer party down here Vicki! Failing that, BE a miserable bugger Hopefully I'll see a few of you there though. Stevie, bring some wedge with which to purloin some tickets
  18. I'll be working at Donny Park for Riders for Health, flogging raffle tickets for whatever this years' donated bike is on the infield! If you're in the vicinity, please pop over to the stand and say hello! and buy a ticket too

MacDognuts is the building to the left of the car park as you view it. :lmao: Probable route from Markeaton: A38 Queensway (heading Northwest) to the A38 Abbey Hill, Off at Kilburn (near the Denby Pottery, for all you fans of earthenware plates and suchlike) through Horsley Woodhouse to Smalley (where Leon and Ron Haslam live). 20. I forgot to ask, what's the latest attendee list looking like peeps?
  21. Oh, and Phil, when you come this year, don't forget to bring a lump strainer to put over the bottom of your lid. It'll make life soooooo much easier on Saturday morning!
