  1. Outrageous. On the 3rd Feb, when the scores were updated, I had 30 whole points and was not included. I now have a massive 60 points and demand to be included.
  2. Pub 4 - Feline Pub 5 - Bird North Scotland, Chainsaw Craft
  3. Looks like I can get a new battery from Halfords for about £40 with my TMBF Halfords card.
  4. No, well yes, a cheap crappy one, that I don't know how to use. Does that help?
  5. The past few starts of the bike, which is now 4, coming on 5 years old, have been a bit sluggish. Today, I connected the sat nav and started it and then tried to start the bike and it just clicked. A jump start with my battery pack and it fired into life instantly. Do I need a new battery?
  6. It hard to walk off when someone is at your door threatening to come in. I am not just now protecting myself, but also my family and house.
  7. Knob of the day is the man who punched me because I asked him to pick up the dog shit his dog left right outside our house. I knocked on the window and he went instantly into ballistic mode, denying it was his dog. He insisted on picking it up, even though it was not his dogs, but then he announced, very loudly, that he was going to come in and shove it in my face. The front door was unlocked as we were about to leave, so I met him there and decided to try and calm things down by apologising and accepting it was not his dogs. That did not work, but he did hand me the bag of shit. I was shouting at him to f**k off and walked him down the path, when he turned, I put my arms up and he hit me. I threw the bag of shit at him and got him a cracker, there was shit all over his face! We exchanged a few blows and really annoyingly, I stumbled and ended up on the ground. By then my wife and neighbours were out, so he backed off. He got me just on the side of my head and bent my glasses, which the optician has fixed. He got a bloody lip and the shit on his face. It is actually quite satisfying, for the first time in my adult life, to not be the one who backs down and to fight back. I had one fight as a kid, when I punched the son of legendary Rangers footballer Jim Baxter in the face, which then exploded with blood as I got him a cracker on the nose. I think from now on, I will fight and not back down
  8. Two, both where the front wheel slid on crap on the road, resulting in minor damage to me & the bike. Various topples when off road or manoeuvring/parking where my foot slipped.
  9. Two months ago my wife was misdiagnosed over a telephone consultation and given the wrong meds, that made her situation worse & last week my father was sent home from hospital without all the meds he was supposed to have, which has delayed his recovery. But, when I see how under pressure the doctors and nurses are, I can only blame the Tories and all their underfunding.
  10. Grey/white gloop is what oil with water in it looks like.
  11. In defence of the police during lockdown, the Covid regulations were rushed, badly worded, had lots of loopholes and the government constantly mixed up advice with the regulations, so no wonder the police got confused and made many mistakes. In criticism of the police, too many cops made little to no effort to learn the regulations as they went OTT in their enforcement and their supposed common sense went straight out the window. It was like they went on a crusade to save the UK from the virus and decided they were the nations protectors. Cops even started arguments with the scientists, over vaccination, with many demanding to be put towards the front of the queue over people who would far more likely fall seriously ill or die. Since most cops are under 50 and the cops who are in response policing are mostly in their 20s, are fit, have no underlying health conditions, they were at a very low risk. The result is the the police did themselves no favours during the pandemic. I work for a local authority home care department and it got so bad, even though we worn a uniform and had ID, we were all given a letter to show the police to confirm we were outside and travelling around to do our jobs.
  12. The UK "snowflake" police shot and killed 3 people in 2022. Deaths in police custody | Inquest The "tough guy" US police shot and killed 1403 people in 2022. Past Summary Ledgers | Gun Violence Archive The US population is about 5 times the UKs, so if the US police were snowflakes they would have shoot 15 people in 2022 and if the UK police were tough guys, they would have shot 280 people. Thank God the UK police are snowflakes! I worked as a security guard in Boston for a summer in 1986. I was there for 4 months and in that time I was present four times when guns were drawn and on three of those occasions, fired. I would never have joined the police if there was routine arming. I don't understand why any cop is prepared to carry a gun, as the level of scrutiny they are under is intense and even a legitimate, justifiable shot can result in them being under investigation for months, even years. Much of the criticism of the police now being snowflakes and woke is because they are finally reaching out to communities who have been neglected in the past, in particular the LGBTQ+ community, who are now, rightly, coming forward to report crime in the past they would not have bothered to. The police still have a long way to go to rid themselves of the homophobic, racist, misogynistic cops who between them, made up a shockingly high proportion of the force. The term woke has been hijacked, but it is a good thing to be aware of issues such as racism. The Commissioner of the Met has warned that over the next few weeks, there is going to be string of revelations about criminal conduct by police officers. I say that is a strong sign the police are reforming and getting rid of cops who should not be in the job. You cannot make an omelet without breaking a few eggs. The ONS has also recently revealed that over 50% of crime is now fraud and computer misuse and violent crime continues to fall. A police officer in 10 years time is more likely to be someone who spends their day at a computer, who does not need to be a tough guy and may well qualify as a snowflake.
  13. Winter maintenance run. Half an hour, get the oil flowing, engine warm and battery topped up.
  14. It is certainly well made. The visor is very thick and when I took the lining out, it was a struggle to get it back in. But, somehow, it is also the lightest helemt I have owned.
  15. Happy New Year to all. Up early because I am working today.
  16. Garmin Zumo 346 GPS and the jump starter charges via a USB cable, no wall plug came with it. It states it takes 3 hours to charge and it is a 13,000mAh battery.
  17. Today I rode my up and down the motorway to try out my new helmet, which turns out to be the quietest I have owned so far. The Airoh Commander.
  18. Barring already booked holidays I would come, and camp.
  19. The Oxford heated grips apparently max out at 4 amps, when on. The power pack I have is the Halfords advanced lithium jump starter, which can put out 300 amps, but I cannot find out how many amps it uses to recharge. The Garmin Zumo mount draws 1 milliamp, I cannot find out how much the actual sat nav uses.
  20. The power pack I plan to take can jump start a car, so it should be OK.
  21. I am planning a winter tour, so will be riding for hours on end with Oxford heated grips, a Garmin sat nav that are both hard-wired to the battery and the 12v power socket recharging a power pack or my mobile in the tank bag. Can the battery take that?
