  1. Are you camping over akey, or going home each night? Thinking about going along, but will be going home each night.
  2. Im sure many will disagree, but I honestly can't think of anything you can do on a motorbike which shows more control and precision. Amazing.
  3. All being well I should have the bike by then!! If not I will have to change my plans. I will also get my brilliant mum to bake a Coffee Cake for you. It will be the best you have ever had!!

    Road Kill?

Voted yes. In my much younger days I was driving home from work at about 4am in my little metro when a sparrow flew out in front of me. I did not even take my foot of the gas it happened so quickly. The little sod got his own back on the way out. It got hit, was pushed under the car, came up into the engine bay and knocked the water pipe out of my radiator!! Stupid thing made my car overheat big time!! I was not best pleased.
  5. Whats the deal with the bikes on the chunnel? Are they strapped down or do you have to sit on it the whole way across? Also, why is it so rewarding? Just wondered. You have to sit on them, and make 'brrrrrmmmm' 'brrrrrrrmmmmm' noises Cool, thats what I would have done anyway!!

  7. Looks like we may have two distinct groups. The guys who want to put the miles on at speed and the sight seeing ones who want a more relaxed pace. Does anyone have any idea of a rough cost. Are we looking at £500 or £1500 or somewhere in between? Just a rough idea would be great.
  8. Voted as interested. Would need to know when. Also interested in knowing about attitude taken towards riding? I am not a fast rider in any way and am worried about holding everyone up. I'm not a total wuss, but being a novice and careful rider I don't want to be pi**ing everyone off by holding everyone up. Really interested though as touring is going to play a large part in my biking life. Thanks

    Nodding

I have to drive a cage for my job, but being a biker obviously I am well aware of bikers. I always make a point of getting out of their way in queing traffic so they can filter easier. Its always nice to get a wave from a passing biker when you do that for them. I suspect the bright yellow "Think Bike" stickers I have on the back and sides of the car windows probably make them realise I am a biker as well though. I also once had a nod from a biker when I was on foot. Walking to my local pub with a few mates and a biker passed slowly due to traffic. I was watching his bike and he saw me looking. I nodded, and was pleased when he nodded back. My non biking friends asked who he was. They seemed a bit confused when I said I had no idea, but he is on a bike!! I guess people don't have to be on two wheels to be nodded at either, or perhaps bikers are just nicer where I live?
