  1. just noticed this morning a problem with shifting, specifically from 2 to 3, but also from 3 to 4, 1 to 2 goes fine. so what happens is i start on the first gear ok, gear up to the second without issues. At this point the shifter gets stuck in its upper / lower point (i have heel-toe control) so i cannot switch to the third gear, but i can go back to N and 1 ok. Revving the engine helps and in a while the shifter returns in its middle position. Noone has touched the bike, so i am doing some research over the internet what might it be. I have not cleaned the bike for a while so i am thinking if some dirt/sand is preventing the shifter to return to its middle position. Anyone faced similar issues?
  2. i also use "engine breaking" and yeah, my rear wheel slipped on a manhole recently but i managed to control the bike
  3. cheers guys megawatt, that might speed things up though i still want to postpone it till next year, but let's see how it goes
  4. hi, my throttle has too much free play and is very stiff. i understand that throttle cable should be adjusted. Is there any proper guide with pictures on how to do that properly?
  5. chat with your local schools/instructors. i am sure they have couple of options to offer. But the main idea is to practice, practice and practice
  6. agree, normally if your exit is past 12 o'clock indicate right until the exit before yours. at this point change to indicating left
  7. stainless might do for a cruiser. but i think clear plastic is better
  8. i'd say only combination of heated grips + deflectors +any winter gloves + inner gloves will do the job properly
  9. i am not sure there are good online resources for that. it might worth going to ebay and buying a second hand dvd: they are quite cheap and will give your proper training
  10. not exactly. there is A2 category which allows you to ride <35kW, <0.2kW/kg i tried to produce a picure, hope it helps. if anyone notices something is not right with it - give me shout http://www.cruiserforum.co.uk/pics/licence2013.png
  11. agree with everything said above. Cruisers have no issues in turning, the technique might be different to sport bikes though. and the video posted is the best proof
  12. hi mate, sorry to hear all this, hope you recover sooner. educational videos (on any subject) are nothing more than a theory. it is fine to try them, but you should be in full gear and not on the road. i watched different videos myself after i did my cbt but what really helped me was just practising mod1 exercises. i was really impressed how that helped my to understand the bike and to control it just after one hour of doing 8s, u-turns and other low speed stuff. After that i was not interested in youtube videos anymore. hope that helps

    Headlight

well did it go off gradually or instantly? your last test was on a steady bike, you did not touch anything, you just watched and waited for it to go off, right? if it is a connection issue then i would expect the light to come on and off intermittently while riding. so far seems like a bulb, but that's just a guess. how old is your bike, your battery and mileage?
  17. wow, i've never heard of this before can you describe it?
  18. i'd say yes. if you fail you will have to rebook and pay again for it and the instructor and the bike
  19. when i did my theory i have not found any site with a proper hazard perception test. i just bought on ebay a second hand disk at around £5
