  1. I first found this site when I was a learner last Summer.

I remember standing up top of a huge hill on Shap Road watching Bikers fly down, and I would stick my fist in the air watching em go by.

Was like a scene from Top Gun

When I got home I searched for local biker forums, and stumbled on this one...it aint local mind!

  2. Mines actually fitted inside the helmet so I can talk into it and much less wind noise.

Kind of use it as a video blog too, also can comment on what you see.

Its an £80 Fujifilm, with SD capability, so unlimited storage (2GB clip at once mind).

Yeah I love watching ride videos too, and I saw some awesome sights the other week which made me do this.

  3. I have been invited to this below, by my boss. Wasnt sure whether to post this in Events, or general Meets, or North West...so Ill put it here and in Events.

    Anybody else interested?

The Great Escape 7 - Press Release

    Calling all Bikers!

One of the largest events of its kind in the South Lakes, The Great Escape 7 will this year be on Sunday 29th June, setting off as usual from the car park outside Stollers Furniture World Barrow at 9.30am, (Coffee and check in from 8.45).

The previous Six years have been a tremendous success with over £37,000 being raised for HEFF (Hospital Equipment Fund for Furness) and Sandside School Ulverston, mainly due to the tremendous effort of Martin Crooks of Crooks Suzuki and his team, who as in all the previous years have organized, marshaled and tested the ride, this year being no exception. Thanks must also go to members of the Ulverston Mysterious Curry Club, with their valued help on the day and previous years.

Last year around 150 riders and pillions supported the event and it would be nice if this year we have a record turnout. The ride, will be similar to previous years which was a little over 200 miles, throughout some of the most scenic parts of the Lakes and Cumbria.

To break-up the journey and earn a few well disserved brew breaks,we will be stopping at approx 10.30 at St Bees, lunch at one of England’s highest cafes at the top of Hartside Fell between 12.30 -1.00, a stretch of the legs and fuel stop at Morrison’s in Kendal around 2.45 and finally a drink and a butty at the Farmers Arms Ulverston, somewhere in and around 3.45-4-30pm.

(please find attached some images taken from previous years)

The Route costs £6 per rider plus £4 per pillion which on its own will raise a substantial sum, but if every rider could get as much sponsorship as possible it really will make a difference. Sponsorship being the key to raise maximum funds for the nominated local charities, forms are available from Crooks Suzuki, Stollers and The Farmers Arms Ulverston.

We finish up as in the past at The Farmers Arms Ulverston for complementary refreshments, thanks to Roger Chatterway and his Staff, good weather has been requested as usual and I am confident of an other enjoyable day out for all participants.

Every penny raised goes where it should, with NOTHING going in administration costs.

Whether you have a Classic, Vintage, Sport, Trike, Trail or Tourer, all are welcome and if you can't bring a pillion, Teddy Bears and Mascots are a popular option.

Stollers Furniture World are contributing £1000 to get the ball rolling, if any other local business or individual would like to make a donation or sponsor a rider, please contact David Stoller or Martin Crooks

    So..

Get your calendars marked and join in the fun.

    Regards

    Dave Stoller

    Honorary President HEFF

Any further information can be given by contacting David Stoller or Neill Berry on 01229 820679 or e-mail [email protected]. and Martin Crooks at Crooks Suzuki on 01229 822342.
