I bought a new helmet today, to replace the one I crashed in last friday. So now I have a helmet, just no bike :D :D

I got a matt black BOX BX-2 helmet. Cost me £49.99 and has a 4 star sharp rating, also it's a nice snug fit, so I am V happy.

LOL, Cheers Bogof....

On a slightly more serious note... if you combine the gold sticker from that link, with...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/s2-Vinyl-sticker-ARAI-helmet-b/w-x-2_W0QQitemZ300353765342QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=&rvr_id=&cguid=3ae817711200a0e2051541c5fffcec6a#ht_500wt_837

...and a Tesco Value helmet, along with a very naiive and unsuspecting member of the public (believe me, they DO exist) buying via a link on Ebay...

Or if you prefer...

Scary innit?

I agree Bogof, not all is as it seems, items on sale could be "altered" to obtain a better sale/price..

hopefully a well researched purchase would give the buyer enough pointers to find an original than a duff..

but yes an unsuspecting buyer could be duped by a unscrupulous seller....

Why would I want to do that? I got it from a local shop, I'd rather keep the money locally, and I would never mail order a helmet. 1. Can't try it on 2. Might get dropped in transit.

Your point?

I still can't check the helmet fits or check for defects via mail order..

You could try it on in the shop first, find out the size and then order it mail order, and as Blakeatron says it could have been dropped before it reaches the shop shelves. As for defects, well you can return faulty products. I do agree though that sometimes its just easier and more convienent going to your local shop.

Less likely to be dropped when a whole batch are delivered to a store..wheras (some) couriers are notoriously careless with parcels for individuals (I know, I see it every day at work lol)

Honestly though, i just got it locally because it saves waiting a week..even though it's a week before I get my bike back..
