(much like plugging it into the fag lighter in a car) Quote
TC Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 I've done what Frankie has mentioned Hard wire a cig lighter socket to the battery and then you can plug anything into it.Sat navPump for blowing up air bed while camping.etc Quote

Stu Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 wire it direct to the battery thats what i have done with mine thats how they are designed to be wired in mick dont worry about draining the battery if you leave it on cos i cant really see you leaving your bike unattended with your tomtom on full view!!!! fazerboy Posted February 22, 2010 Author Posted February 22, 2010 ayeup stu old fella hmmm seems its idiot proof then just wiring it up to the terminals, would it be affected also with heated grips on? Quote

Stu Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 eh up mick nah the grips wont affect it at all mate and as for the milage i havent adjusted it yet Quote
tryme Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 excuse me for being thick but if you wire the lighter socket straight into the battery. will it drain the battery if nothing is plugged into it or will it only use power with something "live" plugged in? Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 if nothing plugged into it then it cant drain the battery if you leave anything plugged in the yes it will dont forget to put a fuse inline between battery and lighter socket as well Quote
tryme Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 ok what does that do? im asuming its just a fuse holder/casing Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 yes it just prevents problems if you get a short in the wiring to the sat nav Quote
