Kendal to Newcastle - Sunday July 4th 2010

Planning a ride out on Sunday the 4th July. The initial idea is to take in some nice scenic roads up to or around Newcastle, have lunch then come back. Simples!

Route (provisional):

Meet somewhere near/in Kendal, possibly the petrol station on A6 Shap Road, heading north to Carlisle on A6.

Take A69 to Newcastle, have lunch.

Heading back along the A69 but turning off to Alston, then over Harside top, down into Penrith, then probably to Devils then home.

Google maps reckons about 2 1/2 hours to newcastle, so I was thinking a meet up about 10am, to be in newcastle for lunch. Ish.

Is this still on? Am keen on going and I think 2 other mates are too. We'd need to meet one of them at Carlisle/Penrith though if that would be okay?

Oh and I'm a fairweather rider so its assuming the weather is good.

After talking with Jade mongoose, this is now cancelled.

Russell (2Fast) there is a Willy Run on from Stollers (annual ride for testicular cancer (sp?)) on the sunday if you still want a ride,
