Hi, my bikes in for MOT and the guy has mentioned my tyres that they are ok but close to legal limit just like the other topic... However i cannot for the life of me find the right tyre size or i don't understand them and if i have looked at the right tyres it's 70 pound for one tyre, not even a decent make i think (sawa is the make)

Please help me understand

Front tyre size 110/80 x 16

Rear tyre size 130/90 x 15

that are the sizes apparently but on Suzuki website, can't find the link it has p on the end or something

ahh found the link http://www.suzuki-gb.co.uk/bike/gz125k9/tech/

mine is a k3 though.

Dale.

Always go with manufacturers recomendations as far as sizes go.

Your tyres :

Front tyres: 110/90-16 59 P tube type

Rear tyres: 130/90-15 M/C 66P, tube type

As a rule of thumb, take the front for instance ..

110- (110mm section width [how wide tyre is ish])

90 - 90% of the section width is the tyres height

16 - mounted on a 16inch wheel

59 - this is the load rating, how much the tyre is rated to actually take, weight wise.

P- this is the speed rating, how fast the tyre is rated to. Higher the letter, faster it is rated, off the top of my head 'P' is up to 88mph

Dale, have heard good things about the Michelin Pilot Sporty (they make many small sizes) my mate just had them fitted to his YBR :)

You'll probably find they would be better than the OEM tyres!

And im with (stupid) Dan on thay my front tyres cost more too

i payed 40 quid for my rear tyre and that was fitted. grips not to bad either.

although the tyre was a full inch bigger than the standard size .. does this matter much. i've done around 1000 miles since

with no worries

Width or height? Height would change your indicated speed.
