So i've been routing through the many 1 piece suits you can buy now but mainly looking at last seaons things as i have about £500 to play with and dnt really wanna over step that mark.

Now i picked out 3 suits one being quiet a step above the price (dainese) but thats based on having some financial luck :P or a helping hand!

Although i know that alpinestars (Octane) and Arlen ness (5908) have some suits for £350-400 to save a bit for my sidi boots :P

so anyways here is some pics of the ~£500 mark ones and wondered if anyone has any first hand experience or opinions on them...?

cant choose as all the makes are good.

I have an Arlen Ness 1 piece(that pictured looks like a 2 piece) and its great but so are the others.Whatever your budget as long as they fit correctly.Tailored BKS wouldnt be cheap but they are very nice.

Crowtree,Teknic,berik are all good too.

RST is an option if you want to go a bit cheaper. Its the only cheap brand i would consider.

I voted for the top one as it gives more visibility (I'm paranoid like that).

I just got hold of some Spyke kangergoo leathers 2 piece, feel and fit like a glove, very happy. Good luck with trying them on, pain to find a retailer who either A has all the stock & B willing to allow you to try them on.

The one that fits you correctly of course.

:stupid: when i was looking for a new 1 piece i tried on loads and the only one that fitted was the one i said i didnt want when i walked in....got it anyway.

IMO if it fits get the dainese one, there stuff is quality. ring up a dainese store and ask if there still doing there renew policy where you can trade in your old 1 piece for a new one... providing you have one already

on another note, my mate wears the BKS suit and it does crash very very well, its been down a couple of times...

and the only problem with spyke leathers is there velcro is diff on the sliders so you can only buy spyke sliders, no others will fit unless you get the velcro swapped

I`ve only got experience with the BKS one and without having come off in it I can`t say how it will hold up during sliding.

I will say however, it feels comfortable, even if the leather is a bit stiff to start with. The stitching does look good quality, I got it at a reasonable price of £479 from a dealer but look on e-bay for the same suit and you`ll get it cheaper with possibly some £149 gloves chucked in for free. I would advise strongly that you try the suit on at a shop before ordering off e-bay as I had to get a size bigger than I normally take.

I have those Arlen Ness leathers and they are amazing, I tried lots on and those fitted me the best with a honey comb type lining inside. It was just a massive bonus that I loved the look of them aswell but as others have said buy the ones that fit the best.

Just reading this months Ride mag. They were testing 2 piece suits.Impact resistance, stitching and abrasion.I was shocked to see such a bad performance from Dianese. The abrasive test where the leather is mechanically held against a belt sander made mince meat of the Dianese suit. The RST suit withstood alot more as did Hein Gerikes own brand. The best on test was Hideout, but at 800 notes it wants to be.

You could pop over to J&S in Northwich, I bought a RST fusion suit from them earlier this year, which i can't fault. I know they had the Arlen Ness, Berick and several other brands and I'm sure they'll let you try on what ever you want.

You need to go to a shop and try them on mate. Every suit is different even the same make suits fit a bit different. A poorly fitted suit will move about if you come off and will be more likely to tear, and you dont want the pads moving about either.

You'll also get chaffing with a badly fitting suit.

I spent several days trying on different suits until i found the "one" (A* gp pro) it fits me like a 2nd skin.

I found rst loose around the shoulders, arlen ness to tight around the groin and Dianese overpriced designer gear.

Of coarse they will fit you completely differently so get out there and try them all on.
