Just a thought for those that haven't been yet (and for those that would like to go again!)

Perhaps there's some mileage in arranging a meet in MB a week on Saturday to see the fireworks?

Not sure about timings yet, but them that can, stick your name down pronto!

And how do you do the "registering thing" anyway?

I'd be up for it, fireworks rule. Almost bought some sparklers the other day. And you get to have lots of toffee as well. Mmmm....

OK, here's the programme of events for the 27th:

It's also the last night of the illuminations, by the way

Sat 27th:

Illuminations and Venetian Nights

Juggling and Fire Shows - 7pm

Parade of Illuminated Boats - 8pm

Fireworks- 9pm

Full details can be found on http://www.derbyshire-peakdistrict.co.u ... ns2004.htm

I was thinking perhaps a 5.30pm meet up - mass visit to the chippy for a Pea Mix or something similar, then troll around a bit until the events start?

Was planning to go to this but struggling to convince any of my mates at the moment. They don't like the idea of staying sober on a Satdy night bless 'em...

Me and Mrs Gimp might be going in the car, just trying to convince her that it would be a good night out

Its amazing! I went couple of years ago and the firework display was never ending! Theres hot dogs, candy floss, boats on the lake all lit up, fish and chips, pub...... brilliant.

Tell Lynn to come.

What time we meeting? Me and Stew are going to get there mid afternoon and have a wander with the kids....it is hell to get park if you leave it too late.

Mid afternoon sounds like a reasonable plan, especially where parking is concerned.

Those that can make it early enough, let's say

3.30pm - meet at the usual spot (outside the Mining Museum - opposite the Fishpond pub)

For those that can't make that time, I reckon we should rendezvous (sounding all military now) at the same place at the following times to pick up any latecomers:

4.30pm

6.00pm

That way if there are any stragglers/late arrivals, at least we all know where to be to catch up with everyone else!

As things get kicked off around 7pm, the last meet at 6 will give everyone time to get to where's best by the time it starts.

Or

Any suggestions/alternatives welcome!!!

Fab, 3.30pm is fine with me. Might bring housemates with me, hoping someone else will drive so I can have a bevvy. Woooo!
