Personally went and did my das without ever owning a bike. As indri e a car already I have the road experience. If you do not have the road experience probably worth option c.

I did C - though in the end I only did 600 miles on the 125 before starting DAS. Still worth it though IMHO, they were a lot of fun :)

i said A as this what i am doing,

i have a 125cc and whilst im waiting for tests as there a big waiting list where i live i am having some road experience,

im doing my a2 licence also,

Presently doing A at the moment. Getting lots of riding experience, enjoying the freedom to go out when I want, no rush and less pressure to pass Mods 1 and 2. I would hate having to wait for a lesson to get to ride.

If you can, C.

Absolutely loved my 125, not quick, not flash, but as I was new to it, I loved it all so much.

Then, when I wanted to move up, it would have been nice if I could do DAS, so I have choice to ride what I want/when I'm comfortable with it.

Second option would be straight to DAS, a 33bhp restriction is quite frustrating, to say the least. But you will miss out on the 125 aspect, which, like I said I loved.

depends on how much money you have really

How much does the DAS cost ish from start to finish if all you've ever done is a CBT?

I can't add a lot to what's already been said.

With my lad it was a case of him only being able to get a 33 bhp restricted licence due to his age.

So I got him a 125 at 17, he rode that till he passed his test on it then we sold it on to partly fund his next bike.

His older cousin did the DAS route without owning a 125 and swore by that.

As others have said it's going to come down to how quickly you want your full licence, how confident you feel, how much trust and confidence you have in your training school and how much you are willing to pay.

I went down the das route. costs were.

theory £31

cbt £110

10 x 2hr lessons £499

mod 1 with bike hire £45.50

mod 2 with bike hire £105

so all in it was £790.50 I done it over 7weeks on my days off work 1 or 2 lessons a week and had never riden a bike before. it's all down to how much you've got and how long you want to wait.

Good luck what ever you decide to do :)

Depending on how confendent you are you could buy a cheapish 125 and pass your bike test on it, I recommend a the Learn To Ride book from Haynes it cost £12.99 but you might be able to get it on loan from your local library thats what I have done.
