Guest
In that case, I would get it fixed before you go. You can bet if shit gonna happen, it will happen whilst your miles away from home x
Stu
i reckon the best thing to do is get a pressure check done on it then to be sure if its going to blow it will on a pressure check better to go before you go to spain then in spain
Guest
Best get my spaners!!Now anyone no how to take the thing off? I only wash n ride the thing!!!!
Stu
you will have 3 or 4 pipes to the rad take them off the remove the (usually) 4 bolts on the sides of the radiator 2 either side and drop the radiator down oh you will need fairing off toowatch your knuckles on the rad they are sharp in places also watch the securing bolts they are usually too soft and can easily break!! Rich748
I used to work for a radiator specialist.. Radweld will probably do a good job of fixing the leak but in time will block the tubes and you'll end up overheating. Stone damage is easily repaired though, but the rad and system will want a good flush to get rid of the radweld. Ebays your best bet, there seems to be plenty of radiators on there for next to nothing!
Guest
Never use radweld in a bike engine The water ways are far to small and the stuff can block them up More hassle than the stuffs worth imho
Chrissb6
I agree with the rest, l would get it fixed proper, rad weld is a temp repair to get you home. Remember that if all goes well, its going to be a lot hotter down there in spain and that rad going to have a lot of work to do. as it gets hot it will start to expand thats when it will start leaking all over again and f'@@k up your hol's. Look for a service exchance unit, there must be one some where, or try ebay for a replacementHope you get it sorted, have a good hol's.
